Used to love paintball,
our team got through to the final one year against this team with a really bad rep, so we decided we had to phsyqe them out right from the start.
At the time I had an old Bedford van hanging around so we painted it black, put a red stripe down it, fitted it with spots and external speakers and took the backbox off.
We then cammed up to the 9’s including face paint and US Vietnam webbing, dug out all our old blank firers (m16’s, ar15’s, ak’s 45’s etc ) and made our way to the site.
Now the approach to this site is a farm track, which is quite steep but about 100 yards from the site car park there’s a hump before it levels out.
You’ve guessed it, we put the theme from the A Team on full blast and fed it through the external speakers, literally flew over the hump into the carpark, executed the fastest decamp you have ever seen, guns blazing (blanks) into the air, and screaming like a bunch of banshees.
Their faces where an absolute picture and it was soooo difficult to maintain that hard man attitude when all you wanted to do was piss your pants laughing. Anyway, upshot was that we absolutely whiped the floor with them, and after the day, we all went to the local pub and we bought them a few drinks, eventually they realised that we had not all escaped from the local bin and we had a great night. Paintball? I’m all for it, fantastic team building potential, great fun, but you watch some ninny get it banned.
that last bit i dont doubt. It only takes one pratt to f**k it up for everyone else.
The marshalls we had today were EXCELLENT. to the point i mean they really made an effort to get everyone comfortable and went out of their way to make sure everyone had a good time. more to the poiint they were VERY tight with safety rules (goggles on, guns on safety, sock etc etc) two of the guys i went with are regular players and were quite good. I managed to play the hero and bag both the barrel AND the flag taking them into opposition camps- was cooooool!
quite amusing though, one of the guys is fricken HUGE and he came with his own gun, smokes, laser sight, air canister up to 5000psi, curve ball barrel, mask - the complete works.
played a full day, 8 games against a bunch of blokes we had never met before (but decent lads nonetheless) which ended up 4-4.
then came the ccrazy part. only 6 of us had paint left so we went out for one last all out carnage battle which was all against all. TOTAL chaos!! This was also the point i managed to pull in the bruises!!
a good time had by all. :D

But maybe a bit more northern this time..
I have a mate who owns a site, corking deal for £40 per person..
All kit, 1000 (one thousand) balls.. Lunch included, and free refreshments all day.
This is a perfect set up for those who have never played as there are 2 different sites, one is flat with the inflatables, with no risk of turning an ankle on a tree root etc, the other site is a little rougher terrain with hay bails and a little less places to hide.
There may also be quad bikes on site too..

Can we do Airsoft instead please? I have the kit anyway, and it hurts less when you get hit.

my biggest talking point was when we played this one game where one person had to wear a red hat, and get across a bridge, obviously supported by your team mates, the marshalls shouted out "1 minute to go" i was the one wearing the red hat, and i thouht "do or die" so i ran for the bridge, and the opposing team just all stood up and showered me with paintballs
at the end of the day, the marshalls gave me the point for that game, the opposing team complained, and the marshalls said "if anyone can be that stupid as to charge the bridge with you lot there, we are giving him the point"

The worst game I've played was "Pig pen"..
All of team 1 step into an 8 by 8 foot square, with about 5 foot of fencing with huge gaps in apparentlyprotecting us from team 2 who are 6 foot away..then team 2 get to unload on us, you can raise your hand to quit, and the last person standing sets the time for the other team to best..
I lasted about 4 minutes, with my younger, more insane brother setting our teams record of over 9 and a half mins, and over 50 bruises..
I would never play that game ever again, Brutal.
