ok one question that i need to ask the wondeful women on this site why is when you want to meet guys you tend to put the age at around 30 to 40 or 42 or am i just getting paranoid in my old age (48) i would like to keep this subject on the light side if i can im not haveing a go just trying to make an observation what wrong with us guys who are caught inbetween 45 and 55 lol :P

Wonder if it's something to do with folk being less than honest about ages ?
Just a thought cos men are just as bad as women for knocking a few years off.
But seriously - If someone is say 40 and has an age range of 35-45 , someone lies about there age and is in fact 50 - well they may just not appeal - being brutaly honest!
I don't expect nor want to attract people 25 nor 55 as neiter would appeal to me and i'm no spring chick-en!
Nowt wrong with being 48 or over , i'll be there soon enough myself and doubt my sex drive will decrease, however for the minute i'd rather stay within my own age limits, mostly!
Though i'm not sure i'd turn down Pierce Brosnan lol

Skiver, there's nothing wrong with being 48 at all. My ' intimate friend' is 47 and there's everything is in fine working order :wink:

You say that the womens/couples profiles you are viewing can often state an age range of 30 to 40 - what is the age of that women or couple who are suggesting that criteria? My guess is they are probably between 30 to 40. You can search for a specific age range, and somebody nearer 48 may be looking for somebody nearer their own age.
When it comes to men I've only ever placed one advert and I stipulated 45+, but you still get replies from 25 year olds. lol

However it doesn't mean I only find men 45+ attractive, you just have to draw the line somewhere and I am usually attracted to older guys and find that sexually we are more likely to be on the same wavelength.

You really are being paranoid. There are as many women who just don't state an age preference at all, opting to keep an open mind and disregard age if they 'click' with a person. There are men over 55 who have meets too!

Back to the age thing: I've often seen ads which specify "under 40s". I'm 45 but I'm always being told I look under 40. In the same vain, I've seen a lot of people who are younger than me who look older. Also (not being judgemental here folks - just objective) when you get to your 40's it seems to be the smokers who start to show their age sooner.
So, anyone using age to rule out the wrinklies could end up defeating themselves. dunno

That's why, if we were to arrange a meet, we'd base our selection on looks and personality rather than age.

Its pretty simple for me, my dad is 53 and i dont think that i could go with someone who is as old as my dad. Its nothing about ageism, just who i could fancy or not. Although i wouldnt totally rule it out, but as a general rule i try to stick to people around my age or a little older. Im sure theres plenty of women that would like to meet someone of your age. You just got to find them. Happy hunting.

Not that I'm offering, which I am not, but try looking at our profile. We specifically seek your age range but nevertheless get too many responses from younger blokes, which I am just not interested in. So I thought I'd to let you know that there's an inverse problem to the one you have identified.
