Is it only happening to us??

We have recently had an influx of couples writing to us (which is great he he he) biggrin

However when we write back one of two things happens, they disappear (we are used to that one lol) or they write back saying they have no pictures. This I struggle with, how can swingers have no pics and how do they expect to meet people?
Has anyone else had this problem or are we just unlucky? dunno

Some feedback would be gratefully recieved

It's just you lol

No, seriously - more and more people are sending pics, a lot without being asked to do so, than there used to be. When i advertised as a single, three or four years ago, a good proportion (including me) couldn't send pics, usually because they had no scanner or access to one. I would say it is only in the last couple of years, now digicams and scanners are so cheap that most people who have a PC also either have a cam or a scanner. At the time I was advertising, I really didn't care about pics as I liked the surprise (OK, I'm silly :shock: ), and guys I met didn't seem to care that they didn't know what I looked like either (even more silly :lol: ). I also met couples as a single fem with no pics exchanged. It is only a few short years since then (I'm really not that old!), but now it seems like EVERYONE exchanges pics, including me. I've even gone to the extreme (don't I always!) and have a web site full of the damn things! Mind you, that's only because my partner is an exhibitionist and it's nothing to do with me!
So, Fran, it is quite unusual that you're having so many people with no pics, maybe you should suggest that they toddle off to argos in the sales and invest in a digicam :lol: . You could also say that they would have great fun taking them.

From our experience, which although limited to the last couple of months since we began our new 'hobby', we have found that the ones who don't send the pics are wind up merchants. rolleyes

We've had loads of emails etc asking for pics and once or twice we did the silly thing and sent ours first - well Terry's actually - don't think they much care what I look like lol

Two of these replied asking for a meet, but when we asked them for a pic of themselves, they did not respond again.
One cheeky sod even asked us to go to web cam with him for a chat and when we turned ours on, he could see us, but then said he didn't have a cam for us to see him! He then bombarded us with email for the next week or so, asking for pics of Terry's tits before he would send us one of him!!! Tosser! mad

For this reason, we now only send to someone we feel is genuine. They are not always someone we have arranged a meet with, but sometimes you can strike up a friendship with someone at the other end of the country, so exchanging pics is nice so you can 'see' the person you correspond with.
We don't always get pics of people we have met with, but it is nice to at least have an idea of what they look like, plus it does help weedle out the pic collectors from genuine folk smile

Speaking for myself, it was discovering swinging heaven that finally got me off my bum to get a camera - digicams really are getting pretty cheap, and they couldn't be better suited to the purpose. Only trouble is I'm bad enough at taking pics when I'm BEHIND the camera, it's very difficult to get a decent one of myself when it's just me! It should surely be easy for couples. Sounds like you were unlucky I guess sad

fran, you're not alone hun, even us single blokes get the same problem ! Merely suggesting they buy a digital camera is not enough,because there seems to be an epidemic out there....if i hear our camera's broken one more time, i shall commit violence on my keyboard banghead

Or the other famous line is, i haven't got any pics to hand !
Anyway, that's enough thinking on that one, otherwise i shall be launching a full on strike that George W Bush would be proud of on my keyboard :boxing:

I've found this thread interesting because until recently I didn't have any pics of myself. That I have now is thanks to a friend and his digi camera. I know the cameras are getting cheaper, but I still couldn't afford one myself - and I'm not sure Boots would process ones taken on my APS! redface

Point is there can be genuine reasons why people don't have pics - and there are also some timewasters and creepy pic collectors out there. As we so often find it takes all sorts to make a world, freaky though it is.

I do totally understand your point, all joking aside. I never ask for rude pictures I am not that interested in them to be honest, I like that side of things to be a surprise!! There are so many ways to get "normal" pics onto your computer these days, you can even walk into Boots put your negatives into a machine and it will transfer them to CD Rom for you. However I also understand the privacy problem, but in swinging surely if you are serious you have to set aside a certain amount of privacy?
Im not trying to upset anyone with this thread, I am genuinely interested in all points of view!

fran darling, you should feel confident knowing that you have drawn a poor unsuspecting chap into your liar, and should make sure that all the losers that have been in touch with you, know exactly what they will be missing out on. Although, they just get off on that doh banghead

Sappho dear, i swore i'd never do this lol, but should you ever need the services of a semi-pro photographer, drop me a line hun 8) There are also confidential processing companies out there to develop your, how shall i put this, more revealing snaps lol, though still not as good as doing your own on a digi cam.
Well seeing as fran's going to be otherwise occupied tonight, i'm gonna have to find another way to cool down :giggle:

There's also black and white film and developing it yourself. But then you need a film scanner, or a darkroom with an enlarger. So that's not really a good suggestion.
Do the cheap digital cameras have timers? That way the extremely shy don't have to ask a friend to help.

I totally agree with Fran's post in its entirety - there are ways to get your normal pics on to your pc and I've done it too - except I'm always the one behind the camera, never in front of it!
I was thinking more in line with intimate pictures and as Fran says there is the privacy issue. We swingers tread a fine line in the respect that we don't tell most of our friends and family that we swing - but a lot of us will place revealing photos of ourselves on message boards to be seen by strangers - the genuine interested swinger and the pervy pic collector alike.
It's one of those rings within rings debates again isn't it!

I sit down with a fresh cup of coffee, and read this thread with interest. I have to agree with fran here, i prefer photos that leave something to the imagination, you can pose completely naked, and still leave something to the imagination. These come across as a more sexy and sophisicated look than just a bare all in your face shot. I think this also says alot about the person in the picture.

It's simply a case of we've only been at this a 2 or 3 months. We were hoping that bastard santa got the hints we kept dropping to our folks about our need for a digi camera, but he never listens (still no new shiny swinging club in Scotland mad

).
But we promise you all that eventually we will post a lovely picture of us clothed and looking like all the other people with their faces rubbed out :censored:.
Should any of you wish to see us we're quite happy to give you a wave on our webcam. Ooops. rolleyes

Ours is a special webcam that only takes shit pictures that we can't use. Bloody technology.

Can't you take pics with your web cam scots cpl :idea: Im the least technical person in the world but thats how we did our first pics when we started swinging in the lean years when digicams were out of our budget. I couldn't tell you how its done though thats Stu's job !! Just a thought.

DJohn - even cheap digicmas have timers - mine does and that was a cheap one.
Generally, even if you don't want to send really explicit pics or ones that identify you as the geezer down the road, any pic is considered better than none! Even if it means taking your holiday snaps down to the local library to get them scanned (I've known people do that before!), at least you made the effort and hence are considered genuine 8) .

OK, I suppose I might as well add my tuppence ha'penny too. Like Sappho and some of the others above I had no pics either, until very recently indeed. My solution was to scan some ordinary photographs and then 'crop' them so that they were a manageable size for e-mails.
Even that was more of a challenge than you might think because, again as others have said, I tend to be behind the camera rather than in front of it. Then there is the problem that I hate myself in photographs so much that I can rarely find one that I am prepared to show to a friend let alone send to a complete stranger! redface

Eventually though, even I managed to find two or three. If people are serious in wanting to get to know someone, then they will find a way.

Why not do what we do and use a webcam to establish whether a person is genuine. You can't fake a webcam picture easily, we use messenger but I believe Microsoft has a similar feature.
We get the other couple to appear on cam, talking to us. It's the best way to solve the problem. We can see them and vice versa. Ok, non webcam users are excluded but surely most people these days have one, they are only about 20 quid

Pardon me for being a techno-gumbie, but is that what MSN messenger is then, a web-cam thing? And it only costs Â£20 for the hardware? Can you use any email address for it? Why haven't I got one? :doh: It does sound like the answer...

Yes, MSN and messenger allow you to view webcams and let others view yours. Just download them free from MSN or respectively. They're dead easy to use. You can get a cam very cheaply, which you simply install via a USB port. Cheap cams start about Â£20, but you'll probably pay a bit more, say Â£40 for one with a mic or that has a super duper picture - but a very basic model does a good enough job. You can also take stills from it, or vid clips off some cams. Having said all that, I don't have one either :shock: , I do like to view other people's cams though - that's the voyeur in me lol
