Is this a good Valentines Gift...??

Hello everyone,
As anyone with a really long memory may recall the reason I stopped posting on a daily (hourly) basis was the new GF in my life. Well she is still the GF in my life, and now I have for the first time ever got to contemplate what to do on Valentines day.!!!
I have always managed to be single over this comercial exploitation period of the year, so I completely lack any tried and tested skills in this department.
So I thought I would turn to my more worldly wise friends on SH to get some tips..
So far I have purchased a romantic gift.. GF likes nice underwear, so have procured something that is romantic and sexy which she can wear again, appreciate and see as something one would classify as a 'milk tray man'/ james bond gift rather than edible crotchless panties!!
Got this with matching thong, its a combination of what she likes and what I would like to see her in:
Didn't buy this (not valentines suitable), but think it would be a very sexy garment:
Ladies opinion on if it fits the requirements above would be nice smile ??
How best to present gift (it is gift wrapped)??

I intend to cook a meal rather than attempt to book us into a crowded resturant, in my opinion its the time you spend together not where you spend it... any tips in that department would be appreciated!! am keeping the actual cooking portion simple!!
How is everyone else prepairing for V day?? I am in danger of being excited about it for once biggrin rather than having a Bridget Jones style response
Anway hope some of you out there can pitch in with help and advice, or pick up some ideas of your own!!
Thanks :D :D
p.s. hello&hugs to kitty, eager, MISSCHIEF, rainbows, dreamer, and everyone else I met / almost met / tormented & talked to!! wave
Hello Chris!!!!
passionkiss sillyassionkiss: :passionkiss: :passionkiss:
Aaah - so nice to hear you so loved up over Valentines Day!! Haven't had one with someone special in ages. You enjoy every minute of it!!
Like the cooking idea - just make it something simple! You don't want to spend more time in the kitchen than with her!!
Gift looks good. I'm not very good at that girlie stuff - so I'll leave the others to advise there redface
Hee hee - I think I know someone on here who has one of those!!! Think I was introduced to it on Saturday night!!!!
So great to see you again - even if just for a quick "drop in"
kiss
Hi Chris,
Well from a females point of view (well mine anyway), I think the gift is lovely.
I would be very very happy if I got something like that, its not tacky, its romantic.
Have a lovely valentines days

I've seen your photos... and you sell yourself short, I think you can do the girlie stuff even if you don't know you can (I don't think it will wreck that nice lesbian image you have, to admit that occasionaly you wear underwear!! ;) ) But then I AM a bloke and therefore find girls in two knotted hankeys sexy, even if no-one else would consider it an attractive undergarment.

Take it you are referring to the wonderbra top.... glad it comes highly recommended, spent lots of time deliberating that one... have placed it in the 'shopping basket' incase the little lady wants to try it out... I think it would look amazing on her.

Lovely to see you popping in kiss
Wow, both those items are just stunning cool ......... can't beleive the class a size 12-14 large tho  confused :? :?
How about cooking up something dead easy, and that can all be done beforehand? Something like spag bol, chili, curry ........... Oh dear, don't listen to me - I'm just trying to make you cook spicy stuff so you stink and then come back on here :lol2:
Have a great time!! biggrin
A quick easy no schlepp meal....
Chicken Kiev, baked potato, sour cream, salad and crusty bread with olive oil and balsamic vinigar.
You could manage that easily!

Shhhh....you're gonna rumble our plan wink
Dont forget to set the mood......its the small thoughtfull things that will separate this from just a cozy night in.....
package the gift in a subtle but nice box....try to get som of those scent beads to put in it.... wrap it in some crepe paper ((orwhatever that nice paper is called) and then lay a single nice quality rose on top..... then put the lid on it
Prepare the love nest so you dont have to tidy it at the wrong moment... fresh bedding etc..
Put a bottle of massage oil on the radiator to warm... just in case you get lucky later....and place any toys or props...such as restraints etc (What??? I dont know what you are in to do i??? biggrin )
Leave her gift with a message on it telling her to just go and get ready...and join you when she is dressed
Let her get ready....
Candles in the Bathroom are nice... get one of those bath bombs for her that have the flower petals in and stuff.. (not the sparkly ones though...or you will be getting them on you for days after...and you will look like a girl!)
and a nice bottle of wine for her to start on...
Let her take as much time as she needs to prepare herself
Set the scene
Candles for lots... nice smell one would be good.....
Some nice music, buy some if you havent got anything suitable !
Nice wine....dont forget to chill white or pre-open red ....
A nice un-complicated meal....I liked the one Libra suggested !
Make sure the table looks nice...simple.. but nice and everything shiny and clean...
Enjoy yourself and enjoy your time together
Spend all night enjoying each other....again and again ....um again..
Least thats what i'd do...anyway :D

I have no concept of what size classes as large... I only know what size I should be buying ;) I will say its clearly a site for women by women, because its very sensible and easy to use, and they spend a lot of time addressing the sizing issue.
I was thinking of doing spag bol or similar... as I find that easy and quick but with just enough preparation time that its something you cook FOR someone rather than something that got delivered.
Surely if we both eat spicy stuff there will be no problem with bad smells (thats the theory I apply to onion rings)??
Aww its nice that there is a teeny tiny conspiricy to get me back on here... I was telling her the other day about the nice friendly nature of this board.
MISSCHIEF I do hope you realise that we very nearly met back in November time.... Kitty invited me to something you were also going to, would have enjoyed teasing U in person especialy as you wouldn't have known I was going... after you made such a thing of never describing yourself to me sad I was making it a mini mission to meet you :D smackbottom
Luv2Lick: thanks for the great ideas... some of them unfortunately won't work very well due to living in a 'studio' flat... but I suppose I could stuff her in the closet whilst she got changed at her leasure. Still swapping the cum stained redface sheets for new ones shouldn't be a problem. Don't technically have room for a table... but I might be able to work on something using my folding ikea chairs!
rolleyes Of course I will get lucky later ! ! ! ! I am very lucky that we can't keep our hands off each other.
Voddy: I think if MISSCHIEF came round to cook she might end up getting involved in other stuff of the non-kitchen uetensil type!!! Which would be very very very very very bad   but very useful the next time I don't feel like cooking :D:D:D:D

Noted. Oops. redface
If you're not too heavily into cooking but like nice food cooked at home, try going to a local Tesco/Sainsbury's/Waitrose and picking up some ready to cook food from their fresh deli counter. Drop in the week before and talk to the people serving behind the counter. Explain what you want to do and they'll probably be very helpful, suggesting what goes well with what, then on the day just call lin a pick up what you need ready to finish off at home.
Remember for a fun night, passion & pasta don't usually mix well - go for low carb meals that leave you feeling light and spritely! Beef's good if she eats it, or tiger prawns, lots of mixed salad (dead easy to prepare) with balsamic vinegar dressing & extra virgin olive oil.
Have you considered a bottle of fizz? It doesn't have to be champagne, sparkling chardonnays are good from Australia or California - just make sure whatever it is is well chilled, chill the glasses as well if you've got the space in the fridge.
And you may want to skip desert in favour of a small box of Thorntons/supermarket's finest choccies that you can take with you and retire to the comfy chairs on (NOT THE COMFY CHAIRS!). And you probably already know brands typically don't matter in all this, as luv2lick capably pointed out its the delivery that matters. She's guaranteed to swoon over you because you've taken so much effort.
Have a great nite!

Luv2Lick - after that description what could anyone say! You must be a major hit with the ladies.
Chris, if this sounds all too daunting, rest easy and just take the advice of an expert wink

Brilliant...thanks for the compliment but I am a shit shag so I have to make up for it in other ways smile
Sainsburys butter chicken.......pilau rice..........its sooooooooo tasty. I think the wine is as important though, dont go ruining an evening with shyte wine.... if its white - chablis (very cold and not less than £8 per bottle not more than £11) if its red try a nice saint-emillion (not less than £6 more than £9 is a waste).
Champagnes all right but its very unimaginative and the best bit is the pop anyway.
and what about brandy... ooh im in the mood for a drink now..sorry
yeap
Get a ready toeat meal from tesco`s a nice bottle of white, chablis is good, as for the gift put it in a box with red rose petals in the box also.
Candels in the bed room etc

Ok...... just because its you and because you asked for it  :smackbottom: I shall explain. Bearing in mind I can't remember what I did yesterday either. There was some kind of munch/meet up thing organised in a forum thread that was remotely close to being down south. I happened to be talking to kitty and commented that I wasn't quite sure if I was known enough to ask if I could go to such an event... she said she was going despite having been talking on here less time than me and that I should go. I think I then commented something along the lines of I wondered what you looked like as you are always somewhat mysterious about that :P:P:P:P and she pointed out that you were planning to go. I have no idea if you actually did go or not, Kitty was supposed to tell me what you looked like and send my kindest regards :smackbottom::smackbottom:
And as to why I didn't go... Well I started going out with my GF not long after this munch thing was supposed to happen, so I was busy woo-ing her at the time of the munch... which I think has to be a goood enough reason for not going.... even if it did leave me starved of your beutiful visage.
(bet your so glad u asked now)
EVERYONE ELSE
Thanks so much for the lovely suggestions, by all means keep them comming. One thing that did strike me is the most important element is know your GF. Some of your suggestions are spot on and right out of the how to be a great lover guidebook, but would also be completely bad ideas based on the likes and dislikes of my GF. For example knowledge of fine wines is always a commendable skill, and nothing says geeerrrrr (think austin powers) like champers.... but if both of you hate the taste of wine its never going to work.
So rule number one... know what she wants, and if you don't... try and find out.
I think incorporating some of the suggestions here into what I had planned before starting this thread should result in success (if not shaggin her senseless should erase any serious errors)... I thank you all very much for putting your thinking caps on.
Aaaaaarrrrgggghhhh!!! (emergency rescue response)
Spag Bol, Curry, Chilli . . . for a romantic meal??????
Mod, you deserve your name Misschief! confused smackbottom
Nooooooo . . . those are either guys' food, food to share with old friends, or desperation measures!
Spag Bol gets everywhere, it's embarrassing, it's messy not in a good way, and it's everyone's 'can't cook anything except this one meal' recipe.
Curry and Chilli - err - stink - plus she might not like spicy (a lot of folks don't) - in fact a good plan if she knows you are going to cook is ask her if she has any likes/dislikes - spiciness yes/no? meat/vegetarian? that sort of thing. Lots of people have pet hates (mine is tinned tuna for instance).
Chicken Kiev, salad and stuff (LibraLove's suggestion) - nice, especially if you get a good exotic salad from Tescos (in lieu of making your own) and balsamic vinegar and virgin cold pressed olive oil are fab (also for dipping that crusty bread - nice and sensual) but the Kiev is another of those smelly meals - what are the folk on this Forum trying to do to you lol!
But yes, as mentioned. it's a good idea to avoid stuff that will keep you away from her in the kitchen. Either get a Tesco's Finest that you can just re-heat, or something prepared beforehand, or something like salmon steaks in the oven (wrapped in foil with a little oil and half a fresh lime is nice and easy and delilcious). Maybe some tomatoes on the vine roasted in the oven at the same time? Or PM me your fave ingredients and I'll love to suggest.
Choc&Sex - nice idea with the chocs for afters, Thorntons are ok but for something special try the M&S Italian Collection, or the Gordon Ramsey chocs from Tescos. Or nice loose handmade ones. If you fancy making a simple choc dessert, again PM me and I'll share recipes. Chocolate in some form is a must IMO!
Music and candles - to add to the already excellent suggestions, Garden State soundtrack is nice mellow background, or some late night jazz - something that sets the mood without distracting - but something tells me you will already know what to play her wink Candles from Kiara over the Internet (or some John Lewis shops) - great for perfuming the room quickly and subtly - the coconot grover, chocolate, coffee are all fantastic (not together of course) whereas rose, jasmin or patchouli are nice for the bedroom or loo (not so strong).
Hope it goes well!

Blimey, I need to get a flight booked :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Thankyou both... yes maybe it was Rio's in December, that does sound highly plausable... I probably missed a good social event... but was definately going out with GF by that time, so far tooo busy enjoying myself
Nice meal suggestions, I am actually not capbable of producing a meal that is too complicated (I incinerated a chicken breast the other day!!!), so keeping it simple shows I care without the downside of producing something inedible. Salmon might be nice though... if only I knew how to cook the stuff... I am the sort of person that needs more information than "in the oven in tin foil"

Does anyone think its too forward to buy a shagging partner a valentines card??
Its a funny one not all mooshy!? Just be nice to hear what others think!?
If you are a guy and a girl (shagging partner) got you a funny valentines card what would you think, would it freak you out or think its innapropriate from a shagging partner??
Chris
Here is my menu suggestion:
Starter- slice of quality pate with a dollop of cranberry jelly on the side and 3 physallis fruit or a sliced fig made into a fan shape. To be served with individual small rolls of oven warmed bread and butter in room temperature
Main - Fillet of tuna done on a grill pan (the pan that has ridges and gives nice lines to food) with a thyme and lemon dressing (just chop the fresh thyme, mix with a bit of quality olive oil and a few drops of lemon and pepper). Tuna needs minimum cooking to maintain its succulence and taste. To be served with baby boiled potatoes and green beans.
Dessert - meringue nests filled with fresh or tinned fruit mixed with sweet whipped cream and drizzled with fruit syrup.
The ideas come from a cookbook that me and my ex are working on which might see the light of publication in the near future.
Enjoy!
Just realised, my personal chef can come prepare the meal for you so all you have to do is serve and enjoy. He would expect to be compensated for costs of course. We are planning to start a business helping people out in such situations. PM me for more info.
