is your info safe on google???

did you know that if you do a search on google by putting a persons username in it will come up with results especially if you have posted something in the forum,not only does it give you full access to the topic but it will give you loads more info about the user i.e other clubs you are members of,pics on blog sites e.t.c. i thaught all our info on sh was secure but obviously it is not,i find this very alarming as i viewed pics of users that have contact this user for pics(hope gems mom dont do a search ffs)lol she will die of shock

Were their pictures ONLY private though? Some have all pictures private and others have some public, some private. It's not only usernames that can be Googled either. Type in a real name and you'll get results. For anyone to find Gem's pictures, they'd have to know her username though, wouldn't they?

OMG ive just googled our username on google and it brought up 2 previous posts and then it let me view my profile, did it just let me see profile because im a memeber on this site???

No it can't. Try logging out of SH then Google TabbynTina. It does bring up a post from them. Click on profile and it asks you to log in. You can't view profiles without being logged in, ie a member of SH. You can see the gallery - photos which people have not made private.

Oh, and the fact that you can see info about what other sites people are on, is down to the fact that theyaren't secure, not that SH isn't secure. You can't even see signatures unless you're logged in.

You have to be logged on to see your or anyone else's profile
with that in mind of course when your logged on you can see everything if you google your name!
Don't forget... if you log out, google your name & still see your profile that will be because logon history could be spread across multiple servers
The info you see when you google a user name will be cached info
Anything you write on any public forum, blog, etc... on the internet will be indexed by all the major search engines.
Sadly if you don't want it to be seen by the world, do not put it on the internet
That's why we all use alias names just like the regular sooper dooper hero's

If I remember rightly, the "Godlike" etc refers to the number of posts made. Pre-take over (I think) each 1000 posts "gained" you a new status. "Newbie" "Godlike" "Gobshite" etc....The Godlike & Avatar are seperate statements.

My user name here doesnt come up till a good few pages further on ...it doesnt bother as most of my posts arent that interesting to people really. An those that do know me know it already...so nobody is in for a big surprise lol
