judging by the amount of empty profiles of the single ladies who dont cam, id say very few. most are not just men, but very lazy and unimaginitive men.
ive never got the point of the pretending to be a girl thing? its not unique to here though. it also happens a lot on a discussion board on a website for my profession. were talking grown men on high six figure salaries posting on a discussion board as the persona of a young lady for extended periods!

Oh the great debate about profiles again, there are many empty profiles on here not just from single females but single males and couples. The same can be said for cams in rooms, how many couples or single males dont cam.
If you are a single female on here and do cam you can sometimes get so many whispers and its just too hard to keep up with general chat and the whispers. Ok can you turn off the whispers, but sometimes you might want to have private word with friends on here.

We should remember though, the profile isn't an advert for meets. It's simply a description provided by the member. There is, nor should there be, any requirement to fill it in. There is no requirement to present ourselves on cam if we go into chat.
If a person simply wants to be a member on here they get a profile no matter what, filling it in may not be relevant to them. Chat rooms are simply that - a place to chat. They are not a shop window for people to somehow 'prove' themselves.
If a person wants to meet generally it's probably a good idea to have a fairly detailed profile as well as a few ads. The cam facility in chat is handy for people looking to meet each other as a first 'look see'.
But again - there is no requirement to satisfy anyone else's curiosity unless you specifically want to meet them. So compaining that people have empty profiles or don't go on cam is pointless and rather arrogant too. The arrogance being the expectation, nay the damand, that everyone else must supply information about themselves.
Unless they are asking for a meet, or asking for information without offering any in return, so what?
What I put on my profile is MY choice, whether I appear in cam is MY choice.

i dont cam often, but i have when ive started chatting to someone i find interesting in the chatroom. but it still makes me uncomfortable that any one can watch.
You can open your own password-protected room and just turn cam on in there.
