I was at one of my motorsport training days last January(ish) IIRC and I along with several of my friends saw a large black cat like creature...
Locals tried to tell me it was a monkjack but later on in the day the car we were using for our practise was covered with paw prints which were larger than my hands
This was all about 6 miles from Stourport-On-Severn..
It was in February Steve as it was the Rescue training weekend :lol2:

Scotland is 31510 sq. miles in area; it is 274 miles long from North to South and varies in breadth between 24 and 154 miles.
Yellowstone is the first and oldest national park in the world and covers 3,470 square miles (8,980 km²), mostly in the northwest corner of Wyoming
Total Wolf population: Approximately 164 wolves in 19 packs.
And the G:eeek: bit
By my reckoning each wolf needs 21 sq miles
That’s 1500 wolves in Scotland
From what I can tell only 40ish % of Scotland is built up
So ruffly 21400 sq miles is natural habitat
This still means Scotland can have 1019 wolves if it wants? !
Well done Scotland
I still think dogging could become hazardous to your health with all them wolves though
im sure someone will sort my mathes out rolleyes
I heard a while ago that people wanted to reintroduce ALL of the animals that had been driven to extinction in this country by hunting, i believe this includes bears, wolves, lynxes, beavers etc etc. These people want to take england back to what it was a thousand years ago wildlife wise but they dont seem to take into account that most people just cant co-exist with these animals!
I also heard that there are so many sightings of animals that shouldnt be here that it should be said taht they are now native to the country as they could breed here. This includes big cats, wolves and wallabies amoung other things. So next time your quietly fishing beside the village river just remember what might be fishing for you....
I also have my own big cat story. A couple of years ago (nearly) there were sightings around the countryside near eastbourne of a big black cat. one night i was walking with a girl down a woodland path (i was trying to be romantic but ended up getting lost-she doenst know that to this day) as we were walking i looked to my side and in the field nearby was a a big black animal, it was far too big to be a dog and i was pretty sure i had just seen the big cat that had been sighted. I looked at the animal and it looked straight back at me, i wont forget those eyes.
A pack of Wolves is unlikely to be a serious danger to even a lone human, as I'd find it hard to think of a circumstance in which we'd be considered a good meal, and with all the modern kit that we tend to wear and carry, we smell completely 'wrong'. They're much more of a danger to family pets than family members, not to mention sheep, which were the main reason they were originally hunted to extinction.
Personally, I quite like the idea of reintroducing previously native species to the UK, where they died out as a result of hunting or predation by humans. Most of the species this has been tried with successfully so far are birds (mainly birds of prey, but also Bustards on Salisbury Plain). I think European Beavers (hunted to extinction for their fur) could be reintroduced very successfully, and escaped wild boar and boar/pig hybrids have shown that whether we like it or not they can survive.
I'll admit that introducing large omnivores and facultative carnivores like bears or wolves requires a lot more care. I'm not particularly worried by what they might do to humans, more by what they might do to domestic animals and what the human response might be.

i know this is unrelated(ish) but this may worry a fe of you. Once the oceans start warming up because of global warming a few things are going to start coming up closer to the surface that we havent seen before. The oceans are deep, who knows whats down there. For all we know certain prehistoric sea creatures might still be swimming around somewhere, and as soon as the oceans start warming they might just surface.
Do you like the idea of a a 15 metre shark (Carcharodon megalodon) swimming around on a beach near you, because you never know what might happen xxx

I dont see the reasoning behind that one dunno
Stuff that lives in the deeps lives in cold waters so why would they come closer to the surface where the water is warmer ??
Its true that deep sea animals do live in cold water but once the seas warm that may mean that they have a much smaller area to live in which will lead them to leave thier natural habitats and go elsewhere ie closer to the surface.
