While songs are floating about on the forums
I know this is morbid,but :
What songs do YOU want played at your funeral ?
Mine are Always on my mind - Willie Nelson
Angels - Robbie Williams
I will always love you - Whitney Houston
in no particular order !
Then a right good piss up for everyone there ! (if anyone turns up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

My Dad always says he wants bridge over troubled water by S&G, not because he likes it - my Mum plays it incecantly, he says if he has to put up with the bloody thing so should everyone else.
H.x
Going Underground by The Jam and I'm being serious though I'm sure my family might have something to say about it but I may as well give one last smile to people smile
Samuel Barber's Adagio For Strings and Bring Me Sunshine by Morecambe and Wise biggrin
Nice one Sheddy
Just spilt me bloody tea all over the keyboard
Got to have a laugh ain't yer,no bugger else will !

This is one of those Desert Island discs moments.
The song I would have varies week by week. I would love something funny and inappropriate, something to make people smile. So I have a very long short list and hopefully by the time it is needed it will be longer and different as my tastes change.
She's Electric - Oasis for the line about a bun inthe oven that must be to do with him despite denials
It Must be Love - Madness - the video is dark
Istanbul not Constantinople - There Might be Giants
Come up and see me - Cockney Rebel
The list in fact is very long and constantly changing
Always look on the bright side of life......The python team
Dock of the bay......Otis Reading
And
Patience.....Guns N Roses.
The Python one last though, to hopefully raise a smile! smile
The Lark Ascending by Vaughan Williams (The version recorded by Nigel Kennedy)
See You On The Other Side - David Gray

No I bloody well did not mean Robbie Williams! smackbottom

I love that piece of music by Vaughan Williams, even if I'm in the car and I'm listening to it I can't help but cry. redface
Sogno by Andrea Bocelli
Time to Say Goodbye - Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli.
These are two songs that were played at my dad's funeral. I've always wanted Time to Say Goodbye, very fitting I suppose.
Did go to a funeral 4 years ago where they played 'Living in a Box'........
Can I add something by the Saggy Bottom Boys?
A Man of Constant Sorrow
years ago there was an Iron Maiden song I wanted... from the early days pre Dickinson..
Not sure of the title, but the was a line
*I shall return, from out of the fire*
Cremation for me, as the tip dont take bodies.......... legally!

starfucker?
(sorry...I'll go)
At this moment in time i'd like to be taken round Silverstone in the hearse so maybe something like Bat out of Hell on the stereo.
My ultimate funeral would be to be put in orbit and burn in the atmosphere so something with fire in the title i have one in mind but just can't think who did it.
Jimmy Hendrix... Fire
Wild thing by the troggs, my karakoe favorite!.
And I want to be cremated and taken to the crematoriam in my land rover!.
It's funny really, but we have also already contemplated this morbid, but very interesting topic too.
We both want California Dreaaming by the Mamas and Papas because we have been a couple of times and there are so many fantastic memories.
Mrs CCR would also have Nymphettemine by Cradle of Filth (it's a fantastic track really) and My immortal by Evanescence.
For my others I would have Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers beacause it is just so summery and I love the guitar riff and Thats the Way of The World by Earth Wind and Fire, simply because they have always been my favourite band since being a teenager which was absolutely yonks ago now.
Great tracks, almost makes me want to rush out to the Co-op and get measured up for my wooden overcoat. Shame I won't be able to hear them played though!!
Mr CCR
The Charlatans track " The Only One I know" and a Pink Floyd track which I haven't decided on yet biggrin
I'd prefer my funeral wasn't especially depressing tbh although I will be there i will have no control on the day confused :?

you lost control of your gob and your bladder ages ago, its only a matter of time before the rest catches up
I'll go for "Going Home" by Randy Newman; but since nobody will have heard of it the point will be lost.
Perhaps then, "Abide with me" because line that goes something like "Shine through he gloom and point me to the skies", always makes me smile and think of being cryogenically frozen and bunged up top floating round geostationary over you youngsters until they can bring me back and convert me to an 18 y.o. stud again. Yes again!

that'll be Jimmy Cliff

I'm with the comedy idea for a tune, get cremated to the sound of Elvis singing ' Hunk of burnin love' wink

.

It was Johhny Nash not Jimmy Cliff
Maybe I should have chosen 'There's A Hole In My Bucket' before Red suggests it rolleyes
Who wants to live forever or These are the days of our lives, both by Queen
