While chopping up the veg and sausages for my casserole today for tea, I was thinking "wow, what a learning curve this has been for me, learning to cook then the whole timing of it when cooking multiple things".
I could never cook til I met the mr, he taught me sooo much about how to live, which I am so very thankful for. he's taught me how to cook so many things! When I first started cooking, I would always cry "oh Ive fooked this up, ur gonna hate it, Im trying so hard, but it's just not working! :-("
5 years on, I'm sooo proud of myself and my cooking. Im not great, but Im god damn good to what i used to be like.
It made me think about the learning curves life throws at us.
What learning curves has life thrown at you? Ones u are still enduring or look back and make u proud as punch
For me it has to be cooking and generally how to live.
And I thought this was going to be about learning your curves :rascal:
How to swing on here lol I'm shite at it but I still love the open mindedness and live n let live acceptance of different choices and tastes on here.
It's made me a better person in terms of trying to see the other persons point of view before I form any opinions hopefully in a balanced way.
ok geek time - equation for learning curve
y = ax b
given the theory that a manual repetative task will eventually take less time due to the learning curve!
see all those years studying and can now spout useless shite.
Learning to cook greek food ( taught by a fellow s h member thanks.....S ) and still trying to get to grips with it ;;lol
actually thinking about it, cake decorating is probably the biggest one for me.
have always been interested in cooking and try out lots of different cuisines but have never been any good at baking, all that has changed now and then the decorating of them too, i guess i am proud of myself with that
You mean I had to learn all that shit?
Humor, you have it or you don't.
I have a dry humor, and sometimes it is misunderstood.
Well done cream your post seems like you are really proud of yourself and you should be, we are never to old to learn anything out of life.
I would say mine is learning about myself and how I had such little confidence in my own abilities and realising I used to when younger listen to too much of people around me and believe what they said. Rather than listen to my own mind and take no notice of of what others say about you.
I am now teaching my children the skills I learnt in life, never let another bring you down, raise above it and believe in yourself.
I'll give you that one then
now what about a nice 5th order polynomial?
Good thread!
I have been on a learning curve, with regards to a family member who has fallen apart, due to something that happened to him when he was a child.
The learning curve was about people who have dropped out of "society" - alcoholics, down-and-outs, drug addicts, etc - and the fact that sometimes, (and I reckon it's probably a lot more than we give credit for) - sometimes, it's due to horrendous events that the majority of us can be thankful we don't have to even contemplate.
