I've done 10 'North Runs', then stopped for a couple of years and missed having a target for the year. I've re-entered again this year, now my target is to find some accommodation!!

Sheddy on a snowboard Woohoo !!!
Do it again m8 believe me after a couple of lesons you will be swooshing yer way down those slopes with the elegance of a giselle (if it were strapped to a plank of wood and pushed down a mountain!!) The thing with boarding is that it just clicks after a little while and in my experience it can be a bit tricky for a competant skier to adjust, totally different technique but much easier to stop (just bring yer board across the slope) kep your weight on your Front foot and steer with the back, stand up with your back straight and your knees slightly bent, don't stand like a goalie unless you wana go really fast. In powder use the reverse i.e. wieght on the back foot otherwise you'll be digging yerself out from being chest high in snow!
I don't reccomend boarding on an empty stomach (or with a hangover for that matter!!) However a quick pint beforehand gives yer legs that little bit of shock absorbtion.
Don't give up m8 keep gong and your body will ove you for it (after it's stopped hurting!!)
