Learning something new or mid life crisis?
More mid life crisis for me  However my mates and I have decided to learn snowboarding and the other week we decided to go for a trial lesson. Now being a competent skier (well 15 years ago I was) I thought I'd pick it up reletively easy. WRONG
A combination of failing to apriciate how energetic it is coupled with the fact that the snow dome is fooking freezing (yes I know its full of snow) ad to that a raging hangover and a dodgy curry the night before and my visions of sailing down the slope's like poetry in motion were rapidly ended (temperarily) by me limping off after half an hour looking the strangest colour of green I've ever gone in my life and physically shaking from head to toe from exhaustion. It seems noi breakfast wasn't the way forward for my already knackerd body lol
Welsh is going great so far........... The women thing though!!!!!! :undecided:

although im only 22, ive always wanted to get a plane license, i had a couple of lessons for my 21st birthday but its so expensive, im in a better job now and hopefully going to be starting them soon
Sheddy on a snowboard Woohoo !!!
Do it again m8 believe me after a couple of lesons you will be swooshing yer way down those slopes with the elegance of a giselle (if it were strapped to a plank of wood and pushed down a mountain!!) The thing with boarding is that it just clicks after a little while and in my experience it can be a bit tricky for a competant skier to adjust, totally different technique but much easier to stop (just bring yer board across the slope) kep your weight on your Front foot and steer with the back, stand up with your back straight and your knees slightly bent, don't stand like a goalie unless you wana go really fast. In powder use the reverse i.e. wieght on the back foot otherwise you'll be digging yerself out from being chest high in snow!
I don't reccomend boarding on an empty stomach (or with a hangover for that matter!!) However a quick pint beforehand gives yer legs that little bit of shock absorbtion.
Don't give up m8 keep gong and your body will ove you for it (after it's stopped hurting!!)
Have added Walk the inca trail to my list
Did have "try speed dating" but can cross that one off now as I've done it. (very cool btw!)
