In one norfolk village they have a speed reduction campaign with the sign "Slow you down Bor!"
we used to it in wales but cannt expect any less can we from a culture that cannt normaly be bothered to learn a second language from such close neighbours ... but we exect every other culture to learn english rolleyes how do the foreigners cope when they visit and ask on the trains for a certain town to be given a blank look or ridiculed for pronouncing it wrong ...... :twisted: i do the same mind

Bicester is pronounced 'Bister'.
When I was younger I thought it was pronounced
BITCH-ester :shock:
it's usually pronounced (by those from outside oxfordshire)

It's just a shame that Penistone is pronounced Penny-ston. If I were from there I'd call it Penis Town at every given opportunity.
