It is inevitable that topics will be repeated as more members join the site, but recently there seems to be several people that feel obliged to start a thread and just post the first thing that comes into their head.
Threads should at least be interesting!!

I think you are right, it is cyclical. Sometimes the forum is alive with ideas that make you actually think. Sometimes there is a run of piss-take threads or light-hearted threads. Mostly it is a crossover of the two.
Not forgetting that everyone reads the forum in a different way and in a different mood. So, some days I love sitting here having a laugh and not clicking on anything that seems remotely serious. Other days, I can post long winded semi-rants that i almost believe when i sober up.
It ebbs and flows and that's good. As there is something for everyone, mostly.
Though saying that, occasionally the forum does become a bit samey. I get my thinking hat on and post the first random thought that comes into my head. Yesterday it was "time-capsules" .
So, if you feel it has become a bit "samey"..... I suggest you get your thinking hat on too and post something you'd like to see....

Yeah, sometimes I just think "yawn" about the Café, so I used to go to LMU and make sarcastic comments on the "fuck needed now" posts. However, I have been informed that this is not helpful, and "Noobie Baiting" (TM Vix 2004) is also frowned upon, so...
These days, if I cannot think of a suitable new thread to start (which is most times) I go into the chatroom. I am very, very, new and naive in there, and a bit crap. So it is good to be on the receiving end of the baiting, for a change.

I like it in the Cafe. I find the chatroom far too hectic (maybe the chatroom could have sub rooms so that you could have less than 7 conversations going at once?).
Another site I go on has a weekly wibble thread that gets started each week and locked at the end and is where you can throw in your tuppence worth to wherever the thread is going. At least it wouldn't have single males desperate for someone to PM them every other line!

I don't think anyone's going to wrack their brains trying to think of a way to entertain you just because you asked, and by the same token I don't expect you to entertain me. We could all start a thread complaining about the lack of interesting threads, but that wouldn't be very interesting, would it? I'm intrigued as to why you should put the onus on everyone except yourself. :?:

i could not agree more! pretty much every single thread / post "allows all members new and old" to "maybe have some input"???
t'is what you make it surely? which is not to say throw up any random thread obviously, but there always seems to be summat to have an opinion about?
course, we do have this little debate about how SH ain't what it was, but then if the members who made it what it was don't post, well . . . . it won't be? eh?

with that in mind and after reading these comments i have come to the conclusion that maybe my initial comment was maybe far from the actual facts. i appoligise in advance. 
i have to agree with the fact that every one has an opinion and that depending on there moods and swings the subject can be read in several ways.....even if we dont see eye to eye.....

as a fairly new comer to this site and after reading the forum for a few weeks now i am still adament that new topics are still directed at the old timers,
sorry no offense i will re rite that one, experianced forum members... 
ops: when comments are made maybe in hast from a new member they are quickly shot down and made to feel like they have to prove the right to opinion.. :? :? :? even if with all good attentions they wish to attend a munch so that they can maybe meet and get to know the other members in there area. there seems to be some conspiricy.... :?
