Me and MrsFC have been discussing what we would do if we won a substantial amount on the lottery say 5 million, I know by Today's standards that is not a substantial amount but it's enough to make a difference.
We have only recently known what it is lke to have surplus of monies so know what it is like to struggle, I am convinced I would make sure all that are dearest to me would be cared for and good and I stipulate GOOD causes would be provided for!
How' bou't you
I'd go farming again until it was all gone!!
If I won the lottery, I'd donate my current home to MENCAP, move to a remote seaside location and spend my time painting, potting, growing my own and shagging Kat - in no paticular order

If I was so lucky to win the Lottery, I'd buy a very nice house, with a very large garden, certainly big enough to breed all the insects I love. I would employ a gardener and have hot and cold running chambermaids, heh, heh.
I would also host swinging parties at least twice a week with a 'Munch' at least once a month. Everyone would be invited and all the booze and food would be free.
However, as I have only won £75, once, I may have to wait a little longer for my dreams to come true. lol

The oldest Swinger in anyone's Town.
We have also known difficult times but have always worked together and with hard work, luck and a faith and a belief that things would come good are now in a much better position than we ever have been.
After being made redundant in 1982, we were struggling to make ends meet and were taking on any work we could get just to bring in enough cash to provide for the children and to keep the house going. We were at an all time low and had been forced through lack of funds, to give up our one passion which was our allotment.
We sold the tools we had in the allotment shed which helped a little and with a half pot of creosote, painted the shed and sold that also. With the cash that we made we took the decision that we could possibly make some sort of living from buying things, doing them up and selling them at a small profit. So with no small amount of trepidation we bought two other sheds from other allotment holders and with the remains of the creosote, did the same thing as we had with the first and after making them look presentable we managed to sell them also.
This allowed us to make the right contacts and again with the profit from those two shed and with contacts made through the allotment holders association of great Britain brought several more sheds along with fresh supplies of creosote. This pattern continued with us buying more and more sheds and creosote, working 14 hours 7 days a week until we had built up a reasonable business. We were travelling the length and breadth of the country, buying as many sheds as we could get and working extremely hard, painting them ans selling them.
Then we won the lottery and thought

FUCK THE SHEDS! lol

(just as well, Creosote is banned)
Davej we also have worked as hard ........won't go into to much detail now, but have not won the lottery but still dreaming. smile
Ohhhh MrsFC won £10 the second week it ran..................... you think she won the lottery!!!!!! daft cow !
On a more serious note, if we were to win then it would be early retirement, take care of the family and visit the places around the world that we have always wanted to see.
I like to think I'd stay in my house and finally get it finished. I bought it when I seperated from my ex and gutted it (literally) and started again but now, most jobs are still not finished (I actually have a little cupboard in front of the hole where my fireplace should be!) :violin: :violin:
I do wonder though, even if I did win big, lets say the £5million MrFC suggested, whether I'd be able to comfortably go out and spend £50K on a car for instance? Or £300 on a dress? I really don't think I'd find it easy after having had to scrimp and scrape to make sure the kids were fed and clothed for so many years. Maybe I could with practice, but I still think I'd find it difficult, even knowing I had millions in the bank
Just a thought (which I've had to edit twice now lol - alcohol = BAD!!!)
Some very deep and meaningful threads last night confused
Well if I won the lottery, I would be quite selfish! Retire first, then, I would go see the world and especially visit some of the wonderful places I have already seen (but for a lot longer this time).
I would fulfil my fantasies (those that money could buy) and finally give generously to my family and friends, living happily ever after.
Back to reality.

Angel - I know how you feel. We lived in 2 rooms of our house for 4 years before I completed it. You should hold a house decorating party!
Mrs TE and I often get on to this subject at about tea time on a Saturday. We usually end up arguing (very nicely of course) - so I hope we don't win.
Must go and check last night's ticket. rolleyes

oooooh now there's an idea! A house decorating party with volunteers from the serving ranks of SH. Then once its done we could get down to the real nitty gritty mmmmmmmm I feel a plan coming on
At least you would have lots of wallpaper paste to stick the paper on with......?
And there'd be no danger of getting paint on our best clothes.
Just DON'T ask Will to do any plumbing - someone put the Jacuzzi filter on flush last night and the shower tray filled up and the toilet flushed itself!
If fact - I think I would just arrange it for when he is away somewhere - just in case!
Fred
I have rehearsed this one many times (it beats counting sheep as a way to get to sleep) smile
Obviously a lot depends on just how much the win was but, funds allowing, I would pay off all my friends' and family's mortgages, I don't know anyoine in my circle of friends and family whos quality of life would not improve some without that monthly sum going out of their account.
Next, I fancy the idea of chartering a Jet, taking over a hotel in warm spot for a fortnight and inviting everyone to a party. I would probably need a small business jet for all my real friends, but once word got out no doubt a Jumbo would be the order of the day.
Last but not least I would like to provide special project funds to my pet young peoples charities.
Amazing how many of us would pay off mortgages, house prices being what they are, they are what so many of us back. We have often thought of what we would do, a house would be high on the agenda, a one bed rented flat and 2 kids is not a good combination ;)
Then like the others here, houses for family and friends. Finally leave work fast and go and do a real job joining the ambulance service full time. Be nice to have the power to help people in need.
As an ambulance crew you would really see the people who need a bit of help, not just physically, but that person who needs a new wheelchair, or a last visit to a dying relative. The remainder of the monies would be quietly sent out from an anonymous solicitor to those people...
