I don't understand why this thread was even started here, IMO its hardly the place!
I love my missus to pieces, but after our fifth child, and after she reached the age of forty she went right off sex. Its frustrating, but it doesn't make me think less of her. My sex drive is as high as ever, and she has more or less told me that if I want it, I should get it elsewhere. Her and I have been through thick and thin over the last fifteen years, and will not be splitting up in the next fifteen years. do we still love each other? Yes.
Point made???

As to what's left then?
Of that particular relationships, most times not much but memories. But then begins the road to recovery and re-discovery with you as the Captain of the voyage.
Over-whelming and exciting with every other emotion imaginable thrown in for flavour.
Enjoy :P

I'm sorry, this has nothing to do with this thread. I just want to say that this was the most perfect thing for me to read today. Thanks, Libra smile
Think the clue here is sex AND love. Y'can love anything, cars, sport, people etc but sex is somthing with but not dependant on love. Sex often is refered to as an act,a doing thing. Like work, tasks etc. point is you can do sex and "love" it or not do sex and still "love" or somthing..........
Of course Love and sex go together, when your very much in LOve then sex is amazing biggrin Thing is then surely when your in Love your making Love not just having sex.
Wheat about the most loving relationships when one partner cant physically have sex,it doesnt mean that the love isnt there.
To be honest to have asked that question it means to me that youve never really been in a loving relationship that doesnt revolve around sex.

theyre different, one is a primal urge/instinct created within or near the brain stem, the other is a chemical release from the left brain i think (the creative and emotional side). If anyone can confirm this please do so cos its an argument ive used since er.............my first girlfriend caught me with me head in another girls knickers....oops

Having a scientific explanation might give you comfort but I have found the experience is more important. At least that's myexperience wink
For example, you may experience the difference betw love and sex in a way that truly does fit your explanation, brain stems and the lot. But that is not going to cut any ice if your gf's experience is that the two are not seperate. She is still going to either dump you or, perhaps if she can't articulate an argument against science, still not trust you cos you are behaving in a way that doesn't make sense in terms of her own experienceof these things.
There, to sum up, science is a load of bollox when it comes to people at least (it certainly didn't help me!)
My experience is that the two are different, but very often inextricably mixed up, and of course frequently confused. Oh, yes, and let's not forget that BOTH have one thing in common, they can take us into ecstacy :color:
Yippeee for that :thrilled:
Mark
I reckon that i've come across 3 definite differences.
Fucking
Having sex
Making love
Lots of love, hugs and kisses
Little
XXX

Sex and Love are 2 different things

Love comes in many forms = Love of a fellow being, Love of a child, love of a parent, love of a friend.
And yes Love of yourself (it does happen)

Agreed, Fred.
Sex and love go very well together, but are not essentially connected....
Sex can be an expression of the love that you hold for that person (or group?biggrin) but sex is also fun. Sex is not nessisarilly fun for everyone, although I cant understand it - I do respect it when people say they do not enjoy sex that much. So can these people never love? No! Of course they can fall in love - as much as I can have sex with someone and not instantly fall in love with them.
Two seperate things, but as I said - they do make a nice couple ;)
