That would be a good idea!
Wouldn't bother me personally, but there might be some people who don't want to, for whatever reason. Perhaps it would increase unsolicited PMs from chancers. I think it should be up to the individual to decide how much or how little they reveal about themselves publicly, and as KM says, if anyone wants to know, they can always ask.

I have given one possible reason, there may be others. Why would anyone want to hide their sexual orientation? Do you want to make revealing that compulsory too? Or their race? or their age? Any kind of compulsory information sets a precedent for demands for more. It's the thin end of the wedge and I believe it is contrary to the philosophy of freedom on which this site is based.
Just my opinion.
I'm in agreement with ice pie on this one. I have no problem revealing any info to people personally, you can't lie if you are going to meet someone anyway, but I don't feel anyone should reveal anything they don't feel comfortable with being displayed in a general forum. Any issues with ease of writing lists are easily overcome.

Irrelevant to you and me perhaps, but everyone has their own crtiteria. If you are suggesting that this information should be revealed so that you can shortlist those you deem potential playmates, what of those whose preferences include age, race, physique, location, profession, social position... you may draw the line at the things you personally are concerned with, but why should it stop with just the things you want? As I said, it would set a precedent. The whole idea bears too much resemblence to the "verification" fiasco for my liking.

I personally have no problem with anyone knowing my sex and my orientation, I'm just concerned that making one thing compulsory could lead to a whole host of other things and we end up relinquishing privacy as a condition of membership.

No just, gende/preference - I still dont understand the problem with wanting to know that.. This is a swingers site - what is the problem with wanting to know that? The rest is down to personal preference.
