mad Hmmmmmm I can see the manners of some people are up to there usuall standard on this site :x FFS are we not allowed to ask questions anymore about problems we encounter without topics being locked, for no apparent reason :x So its ok to post the usuall silly topics like "what did you do blah ,blah, blah crap or idiots moaning about the chatroom but ask a serious question and surprise, surprise its locked. No reasons why fucking typical. We have been on this site since 2003 almost at the begining and this is one of the main reasons we dont often use the forum because of the "we are better than you are attitudes" of some (yes I did say some) that use this. Manners cost fuck all and we were only posing a question that we were told that would happen when the change over took place. Think on mods, the rules are NOT the same you all had your little wienge when it first came to light , but all you can do now is control the forum well if this is your childish attitude, stuff it, remember do you really think they give a toss about you ask the chatroom or should I say EX chatroom mods ?
Like we said before MANNERS are free. USE THEM evil
RANT OVER. :P
What the fuck are you on about? If you posted a proper question rather than just a rant about everything and nothing then you would get an answer. This is just an an example of bad manners as far as I can see.
mad :x :x
We are on about mods who take it upon their sevles to lock post without the manners to inform the posters as to why they are locked as they did do in the good old "Mark" days
Ah.. you mean this thread?
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewtopic/67550
Well, unless you were inviting a debate about the topic (which you weren't) then it was a closed subject - you were asking Admin about something,. Now, they are going to read it and either 1) post a reply on there 2) send you a PM with a reply or 3) ignore it totally and get on with the site revamp at the pace dictated by their webmaster.
Seeing as how it's a holiday week I would expect no answer until the office opens.
rolleyes
I can understand how it must look to you guys, but this point has been made numerous times in the last week. and the mods are repeating themselves over and over again.
Whilst we are all frustrated, someone did come up with the glitch thread (can't remember who) so we could keep the stuff all in one place and the admin guys know where to look.
I haven't looked for a while, but maybe there's an update in there? dunno

Things haven't changed in that respect from the 'good old Mark' days! This is what HE wrote:
Why has my post/thread been locked/deleted!?
Firstly, please carefully read our Forum Posting Guidelines to gain some insight as to why this may have happened. Also, refamiliarize yourself with the forum registration terms you agreed to, paying particular attention to this section: You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
Usually when a post is locked the reason is given by the Moderator who locked it. If your post/thread was deleted then it was most likely considered so pointless or such an infringement of the AUP that it should no longer remain on the site.
The possible reasons your post/thread was locked or deleted are too numerous to mention here, so we simply ask you to accept the decision and move on. What we certainly do NOT want to see is yet another post asking why your previous one was locked or deleted.

If you think your rights as a forum member have been abused and you want to have the matter looked into, please see our abuse page and send us as much information as possible, including your forum username and the link to, or content of, the post in question
.
Pity you hadn't read it first - try on the HELP pages on your left.
wink
sad I'll shut up then shall I ? After all i'm just a non-paying member controlled by non-payed mods, who, if I don't like it can go else where right ?

dunno :dunno: :dunno:
Well, whining is going to help is it? If all you have to offer is a whine then you're best off out of it, surely. We've got enough to cope with all the twats, tossers, turds and twits without people whining all over the place FFS.
mad
Maybe it would cause less upset if some threads were left unlocked. Yes a subject may have been discussed numerous times, but it might seem more welcoming to people who use the forum less, if they were guided to the previous post, but their thread was left unlocked so that, for example someone else who is very new to the forum could post.
I know this may be annoying for regular forum users, but if someone has not posted before, or is a very infrequent user of the forums, it might put them off participating more if their effort is locked.
Obviously this depends on the circumstances and the situation. I do think the forums are well moderated. This is just a thought.
How about it if people took more time to read previous threads, looked for the stickied information (like the glitch thread) and became familiar with what has gone on for the past few days, never mind the past few weeks.
We are ALL going through a period of chaos and change, the Mods too remember, and it's us who had to deal with the huge influx of idiots. If you don't like locked posts then I'm happy to just delete the twatty posts, the whining posts, the shags-R-US posts, the moans, the groans and the idiots. Is that better?
What we don't want is a constant stream of complaining, moaning and downright selfish posts. WTF didn't they use the Steam Room thread - a dedicated thread for moans and compaints? Cos they didn't take any time to read the site. Came in moaned in the first place, got the moan locked and then moaned again! That makes them the idiots.
mad :x :x
Thanks for all the seasoned and calm responses - I've had too much of this shite to be either. rolleyes
I didn't notice the Steam Room when I first came here. I must be be one of the idiots as well. wink

Did you come in moaning and complaining and ranting and chucking mad :x :x all over the place???? I doubt it - so you are officially classified as Non-Idiots! lol
Here's the Steam Room http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewtopic/55774.html
And here's the stickied Glitch Thread
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/swingers-forum/viewtopic/66158.html
that last one is for the terminally idiotic!
cool 8-)
I went to Luton Uni, they only let you in if you are an idiot. That makes it official.
Getting back to my earlier post. I want to reinforce, that I do think this forum is very well moderated. I do appreciate how difficult it must be to keep a forum under control when it is attached to a swinging site.
Most forums in these circumstances would be full of cock photos and wanna shag posts.
Sometimes I play devils advocate in a discussion, but I don't want to demoralise the hard work people put in here.
I'ts OK.. we are already halfway demoralised as it is, so it's even more disheartening to see people post such a tirade of idiocy without even thinking about what they are saying. None of us mind reasoned and well formed debate or opinion - just a rant for selfish reasons takes the piss!! And then the flounce too... 'if I can't win the argument I'm taking my ball home' type stuff is so childish.
God - I've called them idiots, selfish and childish    think they'll come back?? Well, they are welcome back if they contribute in a positive manner, even if it's a constructivally critical manner. Rants are just pants.
Your comments were welcome though... you need to make up for your time at Luton uni somehow!!
lol

.

Most of the posts that are repeated infrequently are left open or directed to the original post.
What Jags is talking about here is things like the moans about the postcode search in the ad section - I've logged into the forum and seen 5 posts on the same topic on page 1 ffs.
Now maybe a newbie wouldn't know how to use the search facility, but I don't think it's to much to ask to look at the posts on page 1 rolleyes
I've lost count of the number of "been here a week and not had a shag" posts I've seen in the last few days and yes that frustates me - and I dont have to sit there locking them all.
Now whilst I try to be welcoming to new users, give them a friendly welcome I also realise that if the mods didn't lock some of these threads, the first page of the forum would be nothing but moans and groans on the same topic.
So what do you do if you're a mod dunno damned if you do and damned if you don't

I have to admit, I wouldn't want to be a Mod. As a normal member I can pick and choose what I read. Mods have to read EVERYTHING

Well, Jags old girl, it would be nice if everyone read previous threads.
However, it is hard work reading just the previous DAYS postings, never mind going back a few weeks.
So, first I'll read the STICKIES (these are posts about things like advice, help and hopelessness, not old jam butties)
After I've gone through them....like 3 weeks...I'll then read the other posts (I'll go back just a week...and take the next month to read and digest those....then read the new posts that happened when I was reading the old posts....I may just get on the site in a year or so....maybe)
I think we can agree that few new posters read the old posts.
We'll also agree that mods have jam-jar eyes from reading loads of drivel (including this)
But, the major problem is the popularity of this site.
What a bitch.
Sorta, peeps need to calm down a bit....instead of complaining, ask others why it's happening ?
No moan, just talk ?
OK.. I've had a large glass of merlot now and got a whisky in the wings waiting so am getting calmer.
There's no need to read EVERY post (unless you're wearing a green coat) but to just come in spefically to moan about something we all know is not right is just idiocy. Do they think it only affects them and no-one else is 1) bothered or 2) hasn't noticed.
Right - off into the snow now to throw snowballs at the house. Much more fun than this.
Once again BIG kiss   to the more reasoned here. Thanks.

Idiots we maybe Jags but new ?? We have probably been on or used this site longer than you. Just cos we dont use the forums give us no more or no less right to expect some form of common decency
I doubt you've been here longer than Jags, to be honest - even if you were members of the site before it changed owners. Maybe you could have looked at some other threads to see if your topic area had already been covered. After all, if you're not newbies, you will be able to navigate the site easily enough to find what you seek.
I have to say, your post on this thread is bordering on abusive and I reckon you're lucky not to have been chucked out.

As Frecklebird wrote you definitely HAVEN'T been on this site longer than me - but it's immaterial. If you have been here since 2003 then WTF haven't you taken the time to read the posts properly.
YOU want common decency??? Is that what you meeted out to the Mods during your initial rant?? Behaviour breeds behaviour and you got in kind what you served up. Think about it!!
Now, thought you had gone?? Staying??? Good - now start to post in a more positive and proactive manner.
I'm off to drink the wine offered by Steph and search for the man to serve it to me. Where's Mattmoleman when you really need him???
whip :whip:
Jags I reckon you deserve a massive bottle of your favourite wine served to you naked by the male forum member of your choice. wink (They should also be your slave for the day biggrin )

just dug my silver serving platter out, leather pouch on & bow tie arround neck so what is your fav bottle of vino jags or would you rather have a bottle of remy martin xo :D (would keep you warmer after snowballing)
put your feet up & i'll give you a shoulder rub smile
keep up the good work im putting your name down for the new years honours list :D :D
My opinion for what it is worth!
BifemcoupleHants, I think you are being totally out of order having a go at the Mods , have you even thought about the amount of work they are having to undertake at the moment? Have you realised that it is infact christmas and some of them (only some) do have personal lives as well? As you said they dont get paid for this work and being rude to them is not the best way to get help.
Maybe you should go and find some of that Christmas Good Will everyone is talking about and come back a little more chilled.

Don't worry, I certainly recognise you. You have another user name not too dissimilar to this one and yes, you have been here quite some time. And if my memory serves me correct you spent a lot of time moaning under your old forum name. Courtesy works both ways. You stay because you like the site, correct? Tell me if I'm wrong, won't you? I mean, if you didn't like the site or the Moderators, you wouldn't stay, would you? Now I don't know if I'm talking to the male or the female of the partnership, because you never have the courtesy to say, but what I will say is that if you have such a major problem with the way the site is moderated, I suggest you email direct to the owners and tell them you want your money back or you'll go elsewhere. Throw your teddy out of your pram with someone who gives a toss, because frankly, you've done nothing to improve my lifestyle, even though we, the moderators, must have done something to enhance yours - or why would you still be here?
Oh shit, I just remembered - you didn't pay in the first place, did you? So we owe you the square root of fuck all, then!
