If you asked this rather personal question merely out of boredom then the answer will be pointless and therefor the question is to a point rude. In fact it was a pointless question in the first place.
Its like going out to dinner with someone and saying ..... "tell me about yourself, I'm not really interested because you bore me but lets do it anyway". To say the least its lacking in social graces a little. Personally if you did this with me then I would get up and walk out.
