Members who may interest you ...

If your home page is like mine it offers you a choice of five 'members who may interest you'. My offerings this morning are:
A single male looking for a female
A young lady who is currently banned
Another straight male seeking a female
A person who is not in the database
A bi-female looking for a female
I am a male looking for a female so these suggestions are all totally irrelevant to me. This feature could work if it was programmed differently; as it is I think it is pointless and would be better removed.
What do you think? Have you ever struck gold, made a contact? Or do you ignore it?

Likewise, I got the following:
A single male looking for a female

A couple looking for couples
A single male looking for a female
Totally useless to me and they are all miles away too!
Completely useless part of this wonderful website.........do you thing we have grounds for a reduction in next years membership? biggrin

Yeah but legally, I think the definition is right.
They must've interested you otherwise you wouldn't have started a thread about them would you! wink

But seriously, I classed that part as being a bit of light relief ages ago. There are many other parts though that really do the biz! cool

Totally agree!
Not only do I get people who AREN'T looking for guys, but I also get a lot of people who are banned (?)
Totally useless feature. It's not even ironic.

I dont even bother looking at it anymore. Tbh, I haven't even noticed if it's still there.
I shall go and have a peek :crazy:

In Edit: one was no longer in the database, of the other four, there was'nt one under 100 miles away but to be fair they were all male and one had a really nice **** :giggle:

I never normally bother with this feature but looked today...
To be fair, they were five guys looking for women BUT not only were all 150+ miles away, but they had last logged in 12, 18, 25, 43 and 47 weeks ago rolleyes

so I don't hold out much hope of one of them being a potential next meet!!

I ignore it, pretty much. Only time I notice, is if it's someone I've talked to anyway (yes, that's happened!) or if it's been a funny username.

I've never looked at mine before, but I had to laugh when I saw that three of the 5 lived 2413 miles away, (presumably by the same person).
Thought about inviting them for a drink, so we could get to know them. Or him if it is one person posting profiles. :evil2:

just been looking at some profiles whilst on a chatroom... several of them said they were 2461 miles from me - is this maybe some sort of default number if the distance/location bit is filled in wrongly? If not, then SH must have a very active ex-pat population!!

The old SH used to be for UK residents only, and admin would boot anyone who registered from abroad, but now they are allowed, and even have their own separate section in the ads. And yes, they always seem to be set at 2411 miles away.
