My bloody housemate's playing Sinead O Connor "nothing compares" over and over again... do you think I should go and make sure she hasn't slit her wrists? I'm about to do mine...
Bright Eyes....yer know, that song from the bunny film Watership Down, always gets me....reminds me when my own rabbit went to the big carrot in the sky...
Susanne- Leonard Cohen , but its also very beutifull
what about The Smiths (Heaven knows I'm miserable now)
Everybody Hurts by REM..... yeah, everybdoy does but jeeez that song depresses me confused
oh yeh and 'Baaaad Wooorrrld' by that REM wanabee.....almost became xmas no.1 the yr before last...unbelievable!
The Mrs always groans and attempts to make a quick exit whenever "Something in the way" is reached on Nirvanas' Nevermind. :haha:
I only ever play the album in the car. :scared:
anything by robbie (wanker) williams is very depressing lol
Lou Reed's Berlin wins hands down. filled with easy-listening singalong pop classics like . . .
The Kids
They're taking her children away, because they said she was not a good mother
They're taking her children away, because of the things she did in the streets
In the alleys and bars, no she couldn't be beat
That miserable rotten slut couldn't turn, anyone away
The Bed
And this is the room where she took the razor
And cut her wrists that strange and fateful night
And i said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling
Oh Jim
And when you're filled up to here with hate
Don't you know you gotta get it straight
Filled up to here with hate
Beat her black and blue and get it straight
. . . it really is a laugh a minute! ;)

blasphemous rumour...by depeche mode
pass the razor blade
Gary Jules' cover of "Mad World" (orginally by Tears for Fears)
Even tho it's popping up in every tv show/promo, it still gives me chills.
that song and most of The Cure's discography...
Heartland by The The. Mind you, it did accurately reflect the times (mid 80's)
Beneath the old iron bridges
Across the Victorian parks
And all the frightened people
Running home before dark
Past the Saturday morning cinema
That lies crumbling to the ground
And the piss stinking shopping centre
In the new side of town
I've come to smell the seasons change
And watch the city as the sun goes down again
Here comes another winter
Of long shadows and high hopes
Here comes another winter
Waitin' for Utopia
Waitin' for hell to freeze over
This is the land where nothing changes
The land of red buses and blue blooded babies
This is the place where pensioners are
And the hearts are being cut from the welfare state
Let the poor drink the milk
While the rich eat the honey
Let the bums count their blessings
While they count the money
So many people can't express what's on their minds
Nobody knows them, nobody ever will
Until their backs are broken, their dreams are stolen
And they can't get what they want
Then they're gonna get angry
Well, it ain't written in the papers
But it's written on the walls
The way this country's dividing to fall
So the cranes are moving on the skyline
Tryin' to knock down ... this town
But the stains on the heartland
Can never be removed
From this country that's sick, sad and confused
Here comes another winter
Of long shadows and high hopes
Here comes another winter
Waitin' for Utopia
Waitin' for hell to freeze over
The ammunition's been passed
And the Lord's been praised
But the wars on the televisions
Will never be explained
All the bankers gettin' sweaty
Beneath their white collars
As the pound in our pocket
Turns into a dollar
THIS IS THE 51st STATE OF THE U.S.A
THIS IS THE 51st STATE OF THE U.S.A
THIS IS THE 51st STATE OF THE U.S.A
THIS IS THE 51st STATE OF THE U.S.A
Come to think of it, not a lot has changed. God, now I'm really depressed.

I really like this song, and most other REM stuff too! I listened to this a lot when I was going through a bad time but I didn't find it depressing!
I don't tend to find music depressing unless a particular song or some lyrics remind me of something in my life. .... well uless it a funeral dirge!
and I like Sinead O Connor too!
Hmmm i think I'm about too lose my pop princess reputation!

Country music isnt depressing if you play it backwards!
Amarillo by Tony Christie --- somebody ban it please --- doing my head in !!
Any song which makes it to No. 1 or even in the Top 1000,000,000 lists on a Sunday, which has anything to do with any of these Reality based 'Lets find our next money-maker' shows.. truly hate them!!
And sexyboy4, theres an easy solution to your problem... SMASH the Sinead O'Connor CD up!!! lol (For those who are thinking 'Gosh, he is extremely violent!!', Im only joking... lol)
