Sorry you've had your thread hijacked rolleyes

Bristol will be our first munch too, so you've reminded me to ask for a handholder too, I think they sound a good idea to get introduced around. I think we PM Minxy, well that's what I will do. Even the more confident of us folks will benefit i feel, I can succumb to the 'rabbit in headlights' look when feeling nervous and then people think I'm haughty and snotty :cry: Not a good look!

For your first munch ask for a hand hold / pm the organiser, or if you have already met with someone off the site, who is going to the munch then ask to meet them again :P
Also pre munch drinks are a good way as well to meet a small number.............

Okay... essay coming up... get a cuppa! biggrin

First munch... I wrote this elsewhere just recently and thought it might help HornyBristolGuy...
Get yourself to pre munch drinkies... well worth arriving early for. It's nice to have a beer or even a coffee and a blether with people in the afternoon before the munch/social.
Remember that this is supposed to be fun and relaxed and don't feel under pressure at any point. If you've made it to pre munch you'll have some faces you recognise in the evening and if, at any point, you're feeling a bit overwhelmed then don't hesitate to find someone you've met and ask if you can sit with them for a while. They really won't mind!
If you're concerned about going along yourself then ask for a hand holder. They are there to make you feel at ease, there's nothing worse than walking into a party on your own when you don't know anyone. If you have any doubts or worries either before or during the munch, then speak to the organiser, you should know who that is but if you don't ask, anyone will do, you'll be pointed in the right direction!
Don't drink too much, dutch courage is one thing but being a pissed twat is another! Have respect for the people around you and for yourself and you'll be okay. Flirting round the forums and in the chatroom is one thing, it's not a green light to snog/touch/grab someone. Like in any situation you'll know whether someone is interested or not, perhaps not on the night itself but certainly afterwards. Munches and socials are just that, social. Don't be disheartened if you don't get an invitiation to jump into bed at an after party... it's not always how it works.
Always remember that "no" means no. No exceptions.
Be comfortable... I was concerned about what to wear, I know it's silly but I had visions of really daring outfits and feeling somewhat overdressed and reserved. lol

Wear what you want to wear and as long as it covers your bits it's acceptable! If there's a theme then feel free to join in. Just be yourself. smile

Have fun! The time will fly past and it'll be time to leave the venue before you know it. You never get time to speak to everyone and I still take the guest list with me so I don't miss anyone... they all laugh at me for it but it works! So there! flipa

Oh... and your nerves will disappear 10 minutes in... try not to worry! :)

this can scare the crap out of the S.A.S
