i dont have shrep acctivated, nor will i ever do so.
does this mean i will not get people messaging me for meets? i dont care as if im looking "Im" looking im not the hunted i prefer to be the hunter lol
would shrep influence my desision on meeting someone or not? nope. why not well because i would have to get a feeling for someone , not rely on what could be someone elses judgement.
in fact if i look at the quickies etc and see lots of comments i actually dont like it. i prefer discretion.
if not having shrep means people will not reply to my message to meet etc then fair enough.
as long as the not having shrep does not influence if i can attend socials etc then i dont care.
people whated this, some pointed out the pointlessness of it, and i feel what we have now are peopel just with another feature to complain about.
you wanted it, you got it, dont moan if no one wants to use it use the best tool you have , common sense.

I agree with every word of that too!

Well after last Friday's social where ALL the people without SHrep's failed to attend or offer any form of apology - The future ones we arrange will be SHrep active only and will only be confirmed on the list when the Meetrep has been accepted.

"everybody picks on me" line again is it--that's usually the third Tuesday of the month.

That has got to be the biggest pot kettle and black that I have heard on here in over five years.
Next you will be saying you never send pm's.

I wouldn't be interested in attending a social where that was the deal. People have not been turning up for socials forever. Shit happens. It's annoying, rude, bad manners, inconvenient and all sorts of other things. However, don't judge everyone who doesn't use a verification system as being a timewaster. If I say I'm going to be somewhere then I'm there. I don't let people down. I don't not turn up. I communicate.
If you stipulate that you don't allow non-Shrep users to attend your socials then you've just ruled out at least three women in this thread from attending. Single females... rocking horse shit? You've just made the rocking horse constipated! wink

Been here long enough to know shite happens, been here long enough not to tar everyone with the same brush - and yes "it's annoying, rude, bad manners, inconvenient and all sorts of other things". It's just time for a change to reduce the 'risk' element and see if it provides the organisers with some confidence that all the effort that goes into arranging these things is worth it! Otherwise we'll stop arranging them and we'll go back to the usual "nothing ever happens on here" syndrome.
34 on the list - 20 no-shows (why do we bother?)
This is a good point too. I wish you luck in your sociable endeavours.
No point in trying to put your point across GU, as I tried then just got bombarded with questions over OUR choice for meets.
Our criteria is not to everyone's liking.....so what?
You were asked one.

Woahhhhhh!!!! hold them horses even if they are made of wood!!!! The thing about rocking horses is that they are made of wood, have no personality and have lifeless eyes.
I agree with most of what you are saying dirty girl however, you have just proved a point mentioned in many threads, which most single girls on here defend themselves against. The fact that some single girls think of themselves as "rocking horse shit" and are so "wanted" by every facet of the swinging community that they can some how behave different to the rest of us. I'm not saying that you do, but you attached the label! Single girls don't make the swinging world go around its the polite, funny and honest people out there. I can live without single girls........but life would be boring without the polite, funny honest peeps be they, couples, single guys or girls.

For the 14 that did. If they all had a great time then it was a success in spite of the no shows. That's why you bother.

oh..seemed to have moved on from the name and shame..and onto shrep again..
Now I was against verification..and voted against it......but fact is we live in a democracy and the majority wanted it...so its here. its not going to go away.....so I have decided to make the best of it..and enabled it. Thankfully I have had some very nice comments from freinds that know me. I'm sure its only part of what people look at. They can see my pics and video..and hopefully see I have a sence of humour. I go to most socials in the midlands region and so, can see I am genuine. In reality there are many tools we all use to determine if someone is genuine and if we would like to meet them. Shrep is just one small part.
Back to the orginal post......name and shame will never work, as always two sides to every story. Who is going to be the judge that decides which party is telling the truth !!

trouble is that not everyone who doesnt use shrep is a timewaster who doesnt turn up for socials, so its a bit unfair to only accept people for your social who have shrep enabled .... ur choice tho but i guess if thats the way its gonna go then there will 2 types of socials organised ..... !
we regularily go to chams socials and occasionlly other socials and munches and on the rare occasions when we have put our names down for one but been unable to attend we always let the organiser know .... but we dont have shrep enabled !

Understand that Steve and I can see your point. Unfortunately, (as usual) 'a few' spoil it for the many. It's not a point we ever wanted to reach either. As we now have SHrep as a 'tool' (for good or bad), we might as well see if it's of any use when arranging socials etc.
After looking at the stats for the socials we've hosted this year:-
Members pre-2005 - 23 requests - 19 attended.
Members post-2005 - 197 requests - 43 attended.
Post SHrep social
Members pre-2005 - 2 requests - 2 attended
Members post-2005 - 32 requests - 12 attended
The analysis:
Pre-2005 members are more reliable but only form a small percentage of attendees.
(and they usually know about it without being on the formal list)
The highest proportion of non-attendees are the 6 months - 1 year old members (we don't approve any new - 6mth members to a socials).
From an organisers point of view
We're selecting venues and basing costs on the expectation of numbers attending. If 60% don't bother to attend this increases the costs on those that do go to cover any fixed costs, knackers any catering estimates, for people attending their first social it leaves a lasting reflection of people's reliability and it's hard work trying to convince them to attend a 2nd or 3rd event. Without 'new blood' it either becomes a 'clique' group or eventually dies through lack of interest.

Kenny boy, If you make a statement that is so wide of the mark then it is my choice to point out that what you have said is complete and utter tosh. In this case, one member asked a question and then you are claiming you were bombared.
This looks like dramatising this post for effect. Answerable? No. But a public post will have a public reply.

When we organised events we had a top number i.e. 100, and then we allowed 150 to put their names down. Generally we always had just under the number. So 30-50% drop out is not uncommon.
It is a pain at first, but when you factor in the drop out rate then you don't get so upset. This could backfire and everybody turns up :eeek:..........but this has never happened. My only problem was when they shut the bloody restaurant without telling me and 28 people turned up ...........one quick venue change and all sorted, but it was a mad hour at the beginning.
We always allowed x number of newbies to come but only those that I had noticed about or had full profiles. Whatever you do, the dropout rate is still high though. I have noticed the same off other sites that organise events so it is not just a SH problem.

I've had loads too. Even chat to them both beforehand and then an hour before, its the usual 'somethings cropped up'. Never to be seem again.

i like socials......
the last north london one was very good most turn up, n lots of peeps even booked rooms.
we tell the single guys that want to meet us,that we be at so n so social if they want to meet up for a drink. as we would never have time to meet them one at a time.
have made friends with lots of them n others we would not meet again.
we all got our likes n dis-likes.
n a good way to catch up with old friends n make new ones
