Let me correct you on a few things.
1. there are lots of profiles that have similar structures to ours.
2. Some even mention race being a criteria for not contacting.
3. Generally we havent had an issue with a couples attention, no couples or females tend to be like guys mass winking, emailing and giving on eliners
4. I dont think we come across aggressive, we just come across to the point. If you find that aggressive maybe you should walk around wrapped in cotton wool.
5. The "drivel" is firstly not written by me.. as stated i have simply copied and pasted as is. Yes there is some humour in the statement about the person being killed. But a more serious message. I did not realise profiles where being harvested for research. Evidently numerous profiles have messages of similar content added, so i added it today just in case. If it is a rumour, the admin team should help by quashing it.
6. I didnt say every member contacting should, just repeated offenders. I.e. the admin team will no doubt have a recorded of how many winks users send, how many friends requests. Lets take facebook for an example. If a person send more than a number of friends requests, it warns the user. Same with adding someone, when a request is sent, it asks why you didnt accept the request (did you know the person).

Using a persons race to determine if they will meet them or not is perfectly fine as long as it is done in an acceptable manner...
You yourself express a special interest in meeting Asian couples....

I generally dont moan about the site, and i do enjoy it. However being contacted by admin to warn me of content on my profile, which does not directly offend, anyone without explanation of exactly what is a bit unnessasary.

It's not required to tell you who has been or how they have been offended....
Only that someone is and as such has made a complaint...
The thing about asian couples, is just a cruiosity thing. Seen as there are still few of us, i want to learn about them, how they face issues etc. That would be our common point.
We havent said we dont want white people, or black people etc, beause generally we dont actually care about that.
Although some people will say Asians, or black males need not apply. Which i dont find offensive, just a mtter of choice.
I dont actually want to know who got offended, however it would be good to know what the offensive comments where as opposed to saying you have too many rules on your profile.
I.e. in the past when the name and shame thing was on our profile, which again was an idea taken from others profiles, the admin staff that contacted us, said quite clearely this statement is not allowed and has been removed. Which i dont actually mind because i know what the issue was. Since then it wasnt added back on.

I do see it as a funny comment - my sense of humour is fully intact. My point was that it makes the whole "Legal Bit"statement a joke and as such warnings about not using the data for research could be legitimately ignored by those who want to do the research.

It is a joke! With a serious undertone that a researcher would realise.
No, it is not illegal, as in a break of the law, to harvest profiles and publish academic papers based on information included in them. However, if you want to publish academic research you need to abide by the "laws" of the institution for which you are doing said research. If you are a representitive of a university, for example, either as a staff member or a student, and you break the institution's ethical code, you may well, depending on the severity of the breach, be subject to legal action. Believe me, it's a situation you don't want to be in! And seriously some of these breaches would be considered minor by joe public.
So, actually, for a researcher - the LEGAL BIT is relevant and will remind them that their institution will be very angry if they cause them headaches. It may well be better to be dead! LOL
And also, there are an increasing number of spotty psychology undergraduates doing internet research for their projects. They won't know that the LEGAL BIT doesn't actually mean judges in dodgy wigs.
AND FINALLY - if there are any psych undergrads reading from MY institution, what the FUCK are you doing on a swingers site????? YOU HAVE A FUCKING EXAM TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahahaahahhhahaha
One of the popular ways of harvesting information is to start a format that people will copy and paste into thier profiles, keywords in that will then set off triggers to harvest information.
A common one seen around is a message to Sydney University, this was actally set up not by Sydney University but by someone who wanted to see how quickly the disclaimer would be copied into profiles. keywords in the basic statement allow them to zoom in on every profile that has the disclaimer displayed on it, the ironic thing is that by putting that and other disclaimers on your profile you are highlighting yourself to the harvesters lol
Another one used was using the keywords name and shame to trigger the harvest as those who set up the harvester figured that anyone having that also had something interesting to harvest
Naming and shaming does not work, what happens if someone contacts you and you decline thier meet offer, so they name and shame you as a timewaster, it is your word against thiers then that you are genuine and that it was said in malice, the name and shame policy is just too open to abuse. People would use it just because they don't like something written in your profile such as no large people or no single males etc.

Why do i get the feeling the the people that usually report your profile are the ones offended becuase they are excluded from your profile.

Taken from your profile
"To anyone using this site for study or research... You DO NOT have permission to use, work with, or reproduce any part of my profile or pictures. If you do, you are violating my privacy ...and if I find you, your ethics committee will be angry and may possibly kill you. DO NOT USE OR REPRODUCE ANY PART OF THIS PROFILE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED."
Nice huh rolleyes
Oh look. That's a variation of the warnings I have to researchers. Nice to see people read what I write. LOL.
And yes, I do think warnings are necessary. Much "research" going on at the moment using harvested profile info.
That said. As you were. LOL. rotflmao

I never said the admin team are doing a bad job. With over 1.3 million members i can imagine there is a lot od admin and moderation work. BUT i was having a rant because today i felt paricularily annoyed because i was told about having what seems like too many rules.. when simply its just ensuring people are clear what we like and want and dont want.

We are not here just to get laid by any old tom dick or harry, we come here to chat.. find like minded people, make friends and socialise. Its why we use the forum even though for us some of the features make it particularily difficult.
We use the chat room and generally politely tell single guys messaging us we are not interested or to take a look at the profile etc.
Now please do find something on my profile that directly offends and how it directly offends you? then i will see how i can wrap it in flowers for you!

You call this a community, well part of this and what MAKES it a community are members who don't fit the criteria that you are looking for. Including single men and Hello I'm a single straight woman wave. If you are really here to embrace that fact and socialise and make friends you would be more accepting of this "community". Having read your profile, it completely put me off even just saying a friendly "hi, how are you". But then if I had, would my message been completely ignored anyway and deleted because I'm not "confirmed bi woman" ?
Admins and Chatroom OPs have been ever so helpful with me. Again, maybe it's how you are approaching them and this whole site in general.
Ok, since you have decided to air your views in the open forum, I shall clarify in the open forum, however this will then be locked to prevent further flaming and if anyone wishes to discuss this please feel free to PM me.
The warning was given not regarding the number of rules you have on your profile, but to show as a comparison that you have rules and we have rules. You originally said on your profile
""ANY WINKS, ONE LINERS OR RANDOM ADDS WILL BE DELETED AND ADDED TO THE IGNORE LIST, as well as named and shamed below!" and "If you do try any of the above we will name you on here as people that cant read!"
I quote this to point out that you have breached the site rules several times and been warned accordingly, yet you persist in breaking them.
We really don't care at all if you have 3 or 300 rules on your profile regarding who you will meet or chat with, honestly we don't. But if you expect everyone to obey your rules, please grant us the courtesy of following our rules.
Many thanks
Mal
