What are people's feelings on the new gallery search ?
A simple search and people can find all the photos of people within 3 miles of a given postcode.
I'm not concerned with like minded people searching for our full profile but am concerned with anyone who joins now having the facility to see our pictures flash up without much effort.
This opening up of the site to voyeurs has resulted in us having to make our pictures private.

You may have noticed that we have added a new search facility for photos and videos, which allows much easier browsing and locating of photos / videos that you actually want to see!

Sarah .. re-read what i wrote .. i stated i didnt mind "proper" swingers from accessing our profile, they aren`t likely to go spilling the beans on something we do in private

there was a thread a while ago were the gallery was discussed... strangley its dissapeared... i know it existed as i posted on it, but my post has dissapeard from the "view your last posts" section... which is strange since the site openly asks for feedback...
Any how, i suggested for members to be able to opt in or out of tagging/searchable pictures by adding more catagories in the section where you put your own pictures....

So far as Private Pics go they won't show up in the search or gallery.
If the option to "Allow other members to calculate their distance from me:" is set to No in My Account then your photo's won't show up if someone selects photos within 3 miles or one of the other distance options.
Thats always been the way, you would only ever see one page of pics and only thumbnails at that.

Can`t really see the difference except that it`s now a tad easier to simply search to see if you recognise anybody !!
But the whole site is geared towards voyeurism ...it`s obviously where the most money comes from .....
Being exhibitionists, you would think that we`d welcome this but I`m afraid gearing the site to voyeurs only will just kill the swinging side in the end......

where is the Private option where no-one can see them then cause for some reason i cant find it...
Photo Management
You can store a Public photo or a Private photo.
Public: Each photo that is chosen as public will be stored in your Public Album. This photo can be seen by another site viewer that visits your profile.
Private: Any photo that you store a Private will appear in your Private Album and can only be visible to yourself and members that you may wish to invite to see your private collection.
You can create your own Photo Album by selecting Create New - you can create Public or Private albums. To move your photos into albums, simply single click on the appropriate photo(s) (this will then highlight with a green border) select Move Photos, and choose the new Album from the drop down list. Select Move Photos to confirm.
and maybe i should have been clearer distiguising between friends only and privite invites.... there are pics we'd be happy for friends to veiw all the time... and some we may want to invite them to see for limited time... at the moment if you invite them they get the whole lot

The issue i`m making and i believe Two4More is trying to make is that we would like our pics viewable to people who use the site not just for looking at pics.
By putting in this quick "perv" at locals to you function i believe you have made the site open to abuse.
But then what do i know ... there must be a value in searching for pics according to catergory close to your area.
I guess some people base there swinging on searching for people via an image rather than getting to know the people involved. Maybe you have done us a favour by making us remove our pics ... people will have to get to know us before we show them any pics .... sorry Meaty .. no more Mrs Suede

You can manage all of your photos in 'My Photos' http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/members/my-photos.html

so in other words.... if you want to have pics that are veiwable to your friends - but not the rest of the world... you have to create an individual folder... then invite each friend in turn to veiw this folder, then if you want to send them more risque photo's you then have to invite them to this folder too?
isn't that a little long winded.... maybe it could be made a little simpler... hows about a tick box next to each picture that says make searchable in gallery... then we dont have to mess around with fiddly folders and make it much much simpler!

Why not just set up a friends private album and send them all permanent invites, there's also a handy drop down box listing friends and a check box listing your private albums just below that, for others there's a choice of a day, a week, a month, a year or permanent.

flower... i gues what i am saying is, that we want people to see our pics but only those we want to see them, we dont mind people in say the chat room being able to click on our profile and seeing some pics. what we dont want is any body just clicking on a search and finding our pics... if we wanted people just looking at our pics, we'd send them into razzel or escort or whatever the popular porn mags are now and let the world see them. we are not on here for amature porn but to meet and make friends with likeminded people and maybe have a little fun along the way. we do not want to be pimped out on the basis somone wants to make money from some voyure wanking over our pics...
in edit i may be putting the point accross a bit strong there but its pretty much true the gallery is there to entice people to spend their money on joining the site, what better way then having cheap porn on there... its easy enough to download pics off there... far too easy

I don't think there is any way to distinguish between the people who use the site and just those looking to perve, I also don't think as mentioned a little earlier that allowing people from say the chatroom to be able to view pics would be any different from how things are at the moment.
The site is no more open to abuse now than its ever been, the distance opt out is still there and people have been able to search for profiles with pics for a long time.
People will always search for people using the medium that they prefer and for many members here its important to both be able to find people and to be found, for those that don't wish to be found there are options on their accounts to make it so, there's also ways to make it easy to restrict access to photo's to those that you wish to see them and now there's also a better way to browse the gallery.

was just about to say the same thing.... great minds eh... it shouldn't be to hard to give an opt out icon to our pics... not that i am a web designer...
let people choose how they want to be searched by all means, but also allow us to choose how we would like to be found, you cant give the freedom of choice to one and not the other....
unfortunately until that is an option and our pics are not just in the cattle market of a gallery, our pics on both profiles are now removed

The issue for me is that if someone I know joins, they might / might not come across me, it was a risk I was willing to take. If they didn't find me by accident they would have to trawl through all the local profiles open each one up, look at the pics, and maybe find me that way.
Now all they have to do is click on gallery, type in their postcode, search for 3 miles and there I am on the first page. It has MASSIVELY increased the chance of someone finding me.
So, because I cant opt out, and I now don't like the increased risk of being found, I now have to hide my pics or remove my distance thingy.
Also, why do we need 3 miles, 5 miles and 10 miles...will there soon be an option for 'same street'?
