is there any way to avoid any disease, in either sex, from oral sex?
Or is it a case of, if it looks ok, go for it?
a condom if you fancy sucking a cock i suppose dunno
cling film if you fancy eating a pussy worship
I'd recommend condoms for sucking blokes ( even if it is like licking a lolly with the wrapper still on rolleyes ) and dental dam for pussy

Polo clingfilm
Cx
We've said this before and we'll say it again, if we had to use condoms and dental dams (etc) for oral sex we wouldn't bother. Yuck
So what dieses could be picked up by not using a rubber confused:
I suppose to cut down the risk you don't have to swallow :?:

I am assuming this is a serious question - bloody stupid thing to do in here I know - learned that one fast but here goes.
To me the only real safe sex is no sex at all or making use of your own hand etc which is a non starter for me. Other things are more or less risky when it comes to getting more than you bargained for.
Oral sex is very low risk when it comes to transmitting HIV but make sure you have a healthy mouth - dont brush your teeth immediately before and whether you swallow or spit seems to make no difference.
For other things I am sure most people would think twice if the other person had unhealthy looking bits but you cant always tell just by looking.
The choice is yours condoms, dental dams,no oral sex, no condoms/dams.
Personally I think there is always a risk of catching something and there again theres always a risk of getting hit by a bus crossing the road. So just as I decide when its the safest to cross the road - I make my decisions when it comes to sex.
Incidentally I always think its my responsibility to ensure I am healthy for the sake of any partner so I have a regular MOT at the clap clinic. Whats this obsession with motor vehicles I hear you say?
Sorry if all thats too much and this isnt the place to say it but someone did ask lol

Good post, and we agree totally, we weigh up the risks and do what we think is best for us (never criticising those who choose a different way). Can't agree more about regular testing though, damn important and, from asking around, not sure enough swingers do it. :?

You don't have to swallow to pick up diseases. Herpes is one of the easiest to catch and the hardest to get rid of

There are a whole bunch of things that you can potentially get from unprotected oral sex. These include, but are not limited to:
HIV (though this is extremely rare)
Gonorrhoea, a common form of VD, can be transmitted to the throat during oral sex, especially fellatio.
Syphilis. The lesions of syphilis usually appear on the genitals or the anus – and very rarely on the nipple. But they do occasionally appear on the lips, probably as a result of oral sex.
Chlamydia trachomatis - this little genital bug has become almost epidemic among sexually active young people during the early years of the 21st century.
Herpes simplex virus, one of the most common of all the STDs out there.
Of course, none of these diseases can necessarily be seen from a visual examination or inspection, so it's most definately NOT a case of 'if it looks ok, go for it'. You can't 'cut down the risk' by not swallowing semen. By the time it gets into the stomach, stomach acids will destroy anything anyway. The danger comes from semen in the mouth, specifically if you have an ulcer, or any split in the gums, allowing one of the nasties to get into the blood stream. That's why you don't want to clean your teeth before oral sex, since vigorous brushing may cause the gums to bleed.
It is of course, down to individual choice, but if someone chooses not to have protected oral sex and they catch something as a result it's entirely their own fault. Bukkakke for example is very erotic to watch, but in my opinion (and it is just that - my opinion) anyone who engages in it is being bloody stupid, and I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. Ditto anyone who said that they didn't want to use protection for oral sex.

great post
even if your partner is perfectly clean and you use a condom you can pick up the odd straggley hair between your teeth, not to be scofffed at in certain social circles , considered worse than a dose if sitting opposite at lunch.................
think on
think once think twice think straggley hairs between your teeth!
staggy rolleyes wink lol

I can see I'm going to have to give a full and clear explanation of the whole hamster/small rodent/clingfilm process.
Thanks for this post, its tought me a lot about the subject and I now know not to brush my teath before oral. Take care M & G
Thanks for all previous advice. But - if i have a first meet, and i ask the guy to wear a condom for oral, is he going to think I'm a waste of time and leave? Or worse - get annoyed, or make me feel stupid? Sorry to go on but this is putting me off going for it at all. We know (thanks to previous posts) what the health issues are, but when it gets down to an actual meet, whats the guy likely to do? redface
if he is an arsehole and doesnt consider your feelings would you still want to give him a bj? if the answer is yes you get what you deserve
if no then cest la vie, tell him to sling his hook and dont worry about it........
it isnt rocket science

well you should have talked about that before meeting him and if he says hes not willing to wear one...you dont meet him, simple as!
If hes a decent enough guy then he'll respect you and what you say, and if he refuse to wear one but I'm afraid you should stand by your decision.
Thats my opinion anyway, you should decide in your mind too.

No sincere male will get annoyed about you being cautious the same as you should never be have to feel stupid about seting any boundaries or limits of any type before or during a meet.
Its your body and mind and your choice of what you do with it biggrin
