It's not really an oxymoron, but it's a phrase I've often wondered about...
"Every now an again"
...how can you do something every now and again?! If you're already doing it every now, how can there be any more than that?! Wouldn't this transgress the very laws of the space-time continuum?! confused
As a wise friend once said, "Time is what keeps us from perceiving that everything is happening all at once; space is merely a device that keeps everything from being in the same place." Then again, this was after the hallucinogens had kicked in. rolleyes
~Reese! surprised
violent agreement
Thunderous silence
similarly different
Veering off on a very slight tangent, why is it that sit up and sit down mean exactly the same thing, and why is it that when your alarm clock goes off it's actually on, and as for cricket, when you're in you're outside and when you're out you're back indoors? confused: :?: :?:
The Caring Sun
(inspired by the "Liberation in the News of the World thread).

Dear Arnold... wasn't this covered recently in another thread over there ------------>?
I thought we had ascertained that to 'sit down' was to place one's behind on a chair or other agreeable place whereas 'sitting up' was sitting erect in the aforementioned piece of furniture...
Your truly,
Hermione

Not sure if this is an oxymoron, but, "new and improved". If something's new, what's it an improvement of???
