Perking your interest....

thinking about people's post-style/ language use/ sense of humour/ your perception of them from their posts alone, do you find your interest in someone 'perked' by something quite specific?
(that makes no sense, I'll elaborate lol)
on another site I use, a newbie has appeared who immediately has made me think 'oooooo, hello interesting one, tell me more' - its very rare I do that, in terms of being this much interested in a person...a full-on and immediate 'i'll keep my eye on this one smile' positive feeling...
and I've seen people here say it before - that they'll become interested in someone from their posts alone (no photos, no meet, no face to face contact yet etc) then follow it up at a later date to see if the 'click' is really there...
so, what is it that grabs your attention - remember, from posts alone so this is a bit forum specific - and what attracts you to different people, not just sexually?
Sense of humour is the biggy for us, how they look too
suppose its the way they write, about themselves, about their experiences.
Also, how they convey their sense of humour.
a view into a persons mind can be much more interesting than how they look and hold themselves.
surprisedP
Someone with a bit more to say than 'I agree' or fluffy nice stuff. Someone who's obviously not posting just to boost their post count. Someone who clearly has their own ideas but is open to discussion on various topics, without being stroppy. Someone with a sense of humour and with a bit of a naughty streak

You can't necessarily see what they look like from forum posts (and profile pictures don't tell me what you look like either, just that one of you has tits and one of you a willy)! If that was the case, I'd think you looked like a car and people would think I was Little Miss Naughty!
I think DF meant from what they post?
but you cant see how someone looks from their posts lol
i mean quite specifically how people here come across, the way, and what they post - is there a particular thing that will grab you?
like, some people will say humour - someone who's post style is funny, quick-witted etc ... but is it enough to make you go look at their profile several times, go see their post history and actively follow their posts?

lol
but it's there isnt it, you know what I'm on about and its not just me with my wierd way of doing things then?
maybe sometimes it is something you cant quite put your finger on...but whatever it is will 'draw' you to someone.
I thought this would be really interesting cos we're all gonna have a different answer - no right or wrongs just individuality. I like that smile
I like to be allowed to be me and therefore respect anyone who remains themselves no matter what or who throws stuff at them.
I like intriging interesting people, those people I could sit and watch post all day. There are a few on here that I would love to meet by getting to know them via posting - they know who they are.. cool

What draws me?
Wit
Intelligence
Wisdom
Humour - first cousin to wit
Understanding
Common sense
Tolerance
Patience

Then again some of you have obviously taken a dislike to me....I can frecklebird pointed out I was here last year and had a clique of people trying to rip me up...and I nearly stopped posting but for a bunch of very nice they read this then their welcome to publicly support me on this i say there's always someone gonna put you down...I couldn't give a monkey's. cool

Just looking at the link which Mr Powers put up last week, you appeared to have offended some people when you were here before. Not that we'd have known that, if you hadn't pointed out that Mr Powers was supposedly one of those you offended before.
Things that would make me think.. "Ooo they are one to watch!" would be:
A person that makes me laugh, I often think I have a warped sense of humour and not many people make me really laugh.
Other more 'minor' things would be a love of nature, the arts and healthy debate!

Someone who's obviously not posting just to boost their post count.

Is there a competition?
I must confess to being quite turned on by good grammer and spelling, though I usually end up shagging people who write like they are sending a text.. redface (but not always confused )

Not at all - just some people seem to post on anything to boost their post count, was what I meant.
Good grammar and spelling works for me too, but it's not an absolute decider. Not everyone can spell - but text speak does put me off.

I can understand where you are both coming from on the grammar and spelling bit.. but - I've met some really nice people who are hopeless in that department but have been the best in the bedroom department! lol

So have I, hence saying it's not a decider wink
I can't spell very well but I am a good shag! lol
There are a few peoples posts that i look out for on here, dont know them from Adam, or Eve for that matter but they generally have some good things to say and are reasoned and well thought out.
I cant stand people who come on to post boost it irritates the shit out of me, or thread hijackers either that gets me right on the sweet spot, but in answer to the question in hand, thought provoking posts or something other than rubbish we see on here at times, the witchcraft thread was a good one recently, as were a few others including the "what has the site given you" one
I find that some of the very well known people however tend to post some very mundane rubbish that otherwise would not be given the time of day by the majority, but because they are well know the posts tend to get a lot of replies!
I suppose my style (Mr SRNE as i am the only one who haunts the forums) is quite frank, to the point without trying to be insensitive but sometimes because of this is, if you catch ones drift?
I love it here though its the best part of the site for me, good for the mind and gets you thinking and the old cogs moving around every now and again!! cool

Thts me fukd thn! Tnx m8! ;)
The thing that will grab my attention more than anything is humour. This could be different types of humour depending on my mood, but if someone can make me laugh I usually sit up and pay attention ;)
