Hi all,
We all moan and groan about work but we all have some perks surely.
One of mine is that I don't have to work Monday's so Sunday night is like Sat night which is nice.. another is that it gives me plenty of free time at times so other things can be done..
What about all you others out there.. Might be nice to think of something nice about work!!
Who's first then..??
Mike
well the only thing that makes my job bearable is i start at 6am and normally finished before giving the rest of the day to myself!
I have two jobs -one in mental health (yes I can sort all you loonies out) lol & one within drugs & alcohol.
I don't needs perks in my job.
If one client benefits from what I do then that is rewarding enough for me to carry on.
I love my job where it can be intense or not. So much so I do voluntary work as well.
I'm a nurse, I work shifts, my pay is crap and my patients all have cancer. As much as I love my job, I'm buggered if I can think of a perk except maybe my travelling expenses. dunno

it must be hard for you sassy.
You are a breath of fresh air to alot of your patients- that must be rewarding in some way (wouldn't call it a perk though)
kiss that is for you for all the hard work you do. My dad died of cancer & can never repay the nurses on that ward in what they did. Not only looking medically after him but for lifting his spirits, having a laugh with him, seeing him for who he was & not just a cancer patient.
Art student. Life drawing. Say no more.

13 weeks' holiday a year biggrin

oh to be a teacher lol
Virtualy my own boss, no one looking over my shoulder and no pressure.
Use of workshop to fix my own car so saves me a fortune and cheap parts.
no worries about failing the mot every year ( do it myself ).
I get to meet lots of people and provide them with assistance to either get them to where they are going to or get them going on there way again.
But can be long hours and call outs can be a pain when trying to meet people.

Thanks hunni  As much as I find the personal side of my job ( as you described so perfectly ) extremely rewarding and wouldn't change it for the world, I wouldnt' call it a perk rather than the best part of my job.
I suppose my perk would be that my shifts allow me time off enough to come in here and annoy the pants off meaty and Tramper :giggle:
btw H.........volunteer model over here wave

Are you MAD woman ?????????????? loon Stuck in a classroom full of snotty kids and not even being allowed to clip the little bast....................darlings around the ears when they get out of hands????? No bloody fear !!!!!
:scared: bolt
i work with drug users and like hisandhers said.....the perks for me are seeing people move on, change their behaviour and become healthy.
oh and i tend to sit on my arse alot having a laugh...thats a perk! lol
I do a lot of travelling in my job and mainly to nice river banks. I am a civil engineer and specialise in flood defences... Oh and the exes are good! lol
I travel a lot with work, this year been as far north as Edinburgh and as far south as Plymouth, as west as Swansea most easterly has been Sleaford (Lincolnshire)
I get to meet lots of new people and even have socials with people from here...
Down side, can be 4 hours plus a day in my car and being away from my very sexy girlfriend who I love more than she knows.
Well, I don't have a "proper" job as I'm still in uni, but I work as a barmaid, dancer, club promoter and maths tutor (GCSE, AS & A2), so I get to meet lots of ppl, get lots of free drinks and get into lots of clubs for free (or even paid to go clubbing!) smile Not too sure what the perks of tutoring are tho!
I run my own business and get to work with people who are genuinely happy with what I do for them. Sometimes is highly creative, sometimes hard work. Now and then I get a nice tasty meal, plenty of tea etc. Not too far to travel. On days off I rest and use the web site.

Karl - I'd lose the reg # if I were you mate wink
I work for myself and like some have already said - I don't have anyone peering over my shoulder and although I sometimes hate the amount of travel I have to do, it gives me the opportunity to meet up with some of the lovely people from here... Freckledbird is my 'half way home on the M1 tea stop'.. :P
thats not the reg thats on the car mate,,, that one was registered south of the big smoke, private plates on her now..
I get to do a lot of travling up and down the motorwaysabout 30,000 to 40,000 per year, and across left to right of the country, but I never get time to stop and meet people
There were exceptions last year on the A14 Cambs with a trucker passing the other way!! (coffee and cakey bun only)
Office perks choice of days out and times with customers, locking the office main door during the day when I get certain visitors to my office
Otherwise generally I have very little to complain about, I like my job..................
