I have to agree with you Wibbly, it really puts me off as well.

I know you were initially talking about porn, but I just picked up on the bit that interested me.
With regards to semen tasting stronger before a vasectomy, I don't think you are right. The taste seems to vary significantly according to diet and/or the amount or type of liquid intake ..... I can't remember what is said to make semen taste sweet, but I think it is cheese. Bitterness I think comes from lack of water intake or perhaps too much coffee.
A good dietician could probably enlighten with facts rather than my unscientific but educated guesswork
