Positive Responses

We're all ready to whinge and moan about the crack-pot posts and downright stupid requests on Let's Meet Up, and us that have photo ads whine about the one-line replies and the complete lack of thought over what they send....
And all this negativity is completely justified - some people are just dingbats of the highest order. rolleyes

However, we rarely comment about the good posts or good responses we get to our ads confused

, and that's a shame.
I've just had a great response to my photo ad. I'm not going to copy it here cos I haven't even made contact with the guy yet so I don't know whether he would be OK with me broadcasting his positive vibes to the whole world, but take my word for it, it was a GOOD REPLY!!!!
He said a bit about who he was and what he likes sexually but didn't go off on the explicit cybersex rants that just make me laugh. He said a bit about what he wants from us. He enclosed a pic (body and face) but has offered to send a cock pic if we want one. All in all, well done that man!
Now, should he be rewarded with a shag, me wonders :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

There are so many positives, I guess thats why the negatives become so glaringly obvious.
I too have met some great people on here. We`ve have received fantastic advice, hugs when we`ve needed them, many, many giggles, and of course, flattery is ALWAYS welcome, and we`ve had plenty of that too biggrin

PM sessions? Our inbox rocksl, some great conversations, including some with genuine respectful and interesting single guys. smile

I often go back for a read.

It's nice to hear that someone has actually had the decency (sp) to ask if you want a cock pic. When peeps have offered to send me photos and I have said yes, expecting a face or body pic - you guessed it - there in my inbox is a photo of a raging hardon!!!
Suppose I should say, instead of 'yes' is 'yes please, a face/full body shot of you would be nice so I can put a face to the name'. Do you think that this would work???

We have had exactly two responses to our ad. OK I admit we were very specific in what we were looking for BUT after saying we weren't interested in web cam, one of the two was from a couple asking if we would like a web cam meet that night duh!

We , had replys that make us laugh, especially the guy,s who send a pic of a big stiffy, when all we want is a a nice pic of face and clothed body , but on saying that we,ve had some real nice ones on here too .Some guy,s send us lovely e,mails telling us about their interests etc; then send a nice pic but naughty one only on request, some have even warned us that it,s rude ! which i think is really nice,needless to say we met up with them and....... need i say more !!!! hump

We don't get mad anymore with weird or odd responses anymore. We find it challenges the ole grey matter to think of suitable replies, leaving them as baffled as we were. In fact, I dare say its become a hobby! I also realised that I get immense satisfaction from hitting the delete button. Life is too short to get p*ssed off at words on a screen.......unless of course it's from my Mom, or the bank telling me I am overdrawn, yet again!

Ive found that when I seem to meet the requirements of local people, send them a considered reply, I get no response at all.
This seems to happen a lot..
I understand some people can get a lot of response, but is it too much to expect even a short thansk but no thanks?
Or, is it just one of those things to accept I will get no response?

You mean we don't have to reply to each and every e-mail?! :P Unfortunately, I'd probably be more like Silky in trying to think of clever comebacks; figuring it would be rude of me just to hit the "delete" key. Then again, if it's a rude e-mail, maybe I'd feel justified. Eh, who knows?
Vix & I haven't posted an ad since our brief and depressing experience with AFF several weeks ago (this was before we'd found SH). Within 24 hours, our inbox was cluttered with replies from people who totally ignored what we'd written in the ad. We took it down immediately out of frustration and haven't posted one since.
This thread, however, has got me thinking that it might be time to try again (thanks, Blue), and merely take all of the inappropriate responses with a grain of salt. Hmm. Better get to work, then...

I'm afraid it is.
People - meaning women & couples - get a lot of emails and even when they start with the best of intentions, they tend to get fed up and give up before they get very far through their huge pile of mail.
It doesn't help that some people (let's call them "idiots") react angrily to rejection, so even those who take the effort to apply to everyone who wrote something worthwhile quickly learn they just get abused for their troubles.

we recently made arrangements to meet a guy in a hotel near us he was really positive and rang in the week to confirm directions etc; needless to say he did,nt turn up and we sat in the hotel bar for an hour mad

i can,t believe people like him he was so "up for it" anyway as it happens the fire alarm went off and we all got evicted out of the hotel so we would have had astruggle to get dressed quickly redface

so a positive did come out of it in the end ....maybe :doh:
