Posting improvements

The saying "One man's meat is another man's poison" seems appropriate here to my way of thinking.
Sure, we all get pissed off at times with some of the posts (and I'm sure mine are no exception to that in some people's eyes).
However, this is an open forum and provided the site rules are complied with any member is free to post about whatever they like. As for their standard of literacy, that's an entirely different matter.
As far as I'm concerned if I'm not interested in a thread I can ignore it or not (it's my choice). Normally if I disagree with something someone's posted I ignore it as I come here to enjoy myself, not to get embroiled in controversy.
But serious posts can be just as tedious as any other type of post. I don't think there's any place here for the "Thought Police" approach to what is or isn't the way to do it. It takes all sorts and I think in general the Forums reflect the broad spectrum of human attitudes and approaches. That can only be healthy.
So sorry but, with respect to you Calista, I beg to disagree with you.
Anyway, this topic's been done before methinks.

Whatever it is, it looks like it's banging its man plums against the tree. Surely there must be an easier way of getting acorns onto the ground.
But back to Calista - compared to other forums on different interests, my first impressions are that SH has some of the most diverse posters, good mods, well run, but is awfully self-critical. It's only natural to get frustrated, eventually people tire. On the other forums I've been using for 4 or 5 years, a good 90% of the posts feel uncannily familiar. I sympathise with the regulars and long-time visitors. Which is why you need newbies too. So far here though, there has been some fun. Quite addictive. A bit like watching a soap opera - none of you are real, and I'm curious to find out who's going to get shot by who for sleeping with their partner. On a swinging forum. Yes, I see your point.
