I know I've read a lot of thank you's after people have been to a munch but how do you feel before you attend one?
We have been to two & have arranged one with the help of gorgous NWC kiss
coming up to next weekends fab Yorks munch I feel really :bounce:
our first one though I was so :scared:
was this going to be out of my league? We sat in a corner for a good two hours trying to take it all in rolleyes It seemed liked a family reunion with everyone knowing each other apart from us redface
It took a lovely lady (she knows who she is) to approach us & tell us to start walking round & have a chat to people. Bless you  won't forget that kindness hun
we met so many nice people.
So folks - how did you feel at your first munch or before you attend any others

the essex munch will be my first, now im a very social guy and have never had a problem walking in to a room and chatting to strangers. I do how ever feel a bit srange about this one.
I have chatted to at least one person in chatroom so will have someone to say hi to, its one thing talking to strangers you meet at weedings and such like, but this seems different.

Bloody hell, can I frame that comment?
OI folks look I'm nice, I am!
Strange but you always get a bit nervous before a munch.
But when you think about it - that it is a gathering of like-minded people, who are out for a good time then it shouldn't be a problem. And generally it isn't.
So relax and enjoy.

do we relax & enjoy though on our first munch? I didn't until I had about 6 pints in me redface
I was bricking it before I got to Notts  but after resting my laurels on Red's lap for a while :rascal: I felt right at home. Thanks to everyone who made me so welcome kiss
I love that proper munch bubble feeling....the planning, the panic stations, the phoning hotels and its engaged and you just know its because the hotel list's gone out and its one of our lot hogging the line also booking a room lol I like the 'what are you wearing?' conversations, the making of the 'people I must speak to' list, the texts on the Saturday morning saying 'are you fookin up yet? ' and a bit later... 'right we're off, see you there! ' I once had one that reflected the military planning behind it all saying 'en route to destination, ETA 2.5 hours' - cracked me up rotflmao and had me giggling like a girl all the way there loon
I dont get nervous anymore - which is a far cry from my first social where I had to call the organiser from the carpark and get her to come get me redface :rotflmao: but maybe the adrenaline from running round my house searching for lost munch clothes, sticking vodka jelly in the freezer cos its not set yet & jumping on the holdall to get it fastened, reaching panic stations after getting lost en route for the 3rd time or trying to beat the clock and not be late as usual masks it well
i do get a bit apprehensive as to whether anyone's gonna talk to me or not though (its a fickle world) and tend to spend a fair bit of the night propping up the bar on me tod until someone either takes pity on me or I'm in thier face saying 'so, who are you then?' :rotflmao:
The worst bit about munches is the morning after  - semi-comatose funny colour people attempting to eat breakfast, the mad hunt for coffee and room-raiding for supplies  throwing shoes in the car swearing never to wear them again & the journey home when your liver positively hates you and your feet (and other bits, depending on what you got up to afterwards :twistedsmile feel like they got run over by a 10 ton truck :rotflmao:

 & thank you kiss
That's easy when you're in the area and haven't spent weeks sorting out travel, hotels, babysitters, house sitters etc etc.
Not sure about the others but no matter if you go with someone you know, it's still like walking into a pub full of strangers
your aversions to the social aspect of this lifestyle - and particularly Munches- have not gone unnoticed Scandal, I however, enjoy it, all of it,justa night out in a pub or not dunno
so yes, I was serious wink

jeez! Are you serious?
It's only like a night in the pub FFS!
The last one I went to, I played football, went home, had a shower, turned up had a glass of lemonade, talked to a few people and went home again!
I can't believe people take it so seriously

well thats something new to me then? Do men find it easier attending munches than women?
Personally, His was more :scared: than me

You mean sharing a room with me didn't scare the bejesus out of you?
I just love Munches.....have been to loads now but I still get really nervous before I get there....
Until I get there and see everyone and get loads of hugs from people.....
And the actual Munch itself is great fun....especially if there is Karaoke there and I can listen to Stuart doing his usual!!
And then there are After-Munch Parties....where we all just sit around and chat for hours while people disappear off for a little while and come back...LoL
And the morning after is great fun, especially cause I hardly ever drink, so I can watch people with dark sunglasses on trying to eat breakfast...LoL...
The only thing I don't like is the Post Munch Blues.....I always get really down after a Munch.....a bit like overload..... evil
