Hi Lissa,
Good post this one I joined the forum this week and have not posted too much as I was busy reading some of the topics. trying to get a feel for the place.... I just checked out your homepage. Very Juicy indeed!
I like the site very much and find there is a good sense of humor about it and hopefully will contribute as time goes by... and I am learning, I didn't know what a MUNCH was this time last week, I thought it was something you did with a cucumber! but after seeing your gallery I think I can see the benifits of salad lol

Hee hee.
Well, you know what they say.................5 portions a day wink
Glad you are enjoying it on here, and hopefully you'll become a regular poster biggrin
Thanks Lissa,
5 portions a day! You must be into health food in a BIG way
I think I will keep posting.....

Oh good, now i've seen your rather lovely profile pics Mrs Grif, i'm quite looking forward to perving looking again :rascal:
Well, we started posting this week because we finally plucked up courage to complete our profile and post some pics and admit we wanted to take part.
Lurking is useful when you first start to get the feel of the place but posting is better.
I think this is a brill way of letting people say hello.....
Also nice to see the acid tongues have been held in check, :censored: well for now anyway.
A big welcome to all who want to post and hello to those who want to lurk ......

I am what I would term an Occasional Poster rather than a Lurker. I tend to only respond to a thread when I actually have something to say. Though I often get half way though typing a reply to a thread and think "And your point is? This is going nowhere, and is of no interest to anyone" and cancel the update. I s'pose what I mean is that I don't feel I have to make an appearance in every thread for the sake of it and be a "pointless poster".
I don't read all of the threads - which tends to cut down the opportunities for posting! I scan the thread titles and read those that sound as if they could contain something that might interest me. I log on two or three times every evening, but sometimes I'm logged on and off in a couple of minutes without having opened a thread, other times I'm here for an hour or so.
I'm also reluctant to put a reply on a thread that has clearly run it's course and bring it up to the top of the list again, opinion held or not.
Finally, I often forget which posts I have put an update on, so tend not to get into to-and-fros and banter.
'Course, all of the above means that I don't get well known and - to use a pub as a simile - I am more like the bloke who turns up most nights and sits in the corner reading his book over a pint or three and occasionally pipes up, rather than one of the noisy group of regulars at the bar.
"And my point is?" Must. Press. Submit.....
i often lurk rather than post because i find someone else has already said what i might have done, thanks Gitfinger biggrin
I enjoy reading the posts ,it's more interesting and entertaining than television smile add posts now and again and when I do I feel involved and love it,only problem is it becomes bloody addictive and stops me getting out so much(maybe a good thing)so stuck in transition stage at moment. Maybe will come in and stay in, I know I want to biggrin

good humbugs
I think water babe hit the nail on the head, but also a lot of threads seem to go totaly of subject, with people having a bit of banter, so by the time you get to the end, whatever you were going to put has lost its relevence. also of a lot of threads are for specific information, which "lurkers" may not have any subject knowledge off. and of course there are the people who do not wish to be seen is fools, (I include myself in the latter)

Well I started joining in again a few weeks ago and hope I have 'added' something to the various Threads that have caught my eye. But I have to say I can see why people will prefer to sit and read rather than join in with the debates. Some of the banter can be seen as very 'in-crowd' and as Waterbabe put it so well it is like being at a party and no one looking outside of their own group. yes mdr2000 'Acid Tongues' do sadly exist and if you should ever find yourself disagreeing with certain people it can be a very unpleasant experience especially when you also get sarcastic PMs for good measure.
Consequently I now join in far less than I wish and am now merging back into the lurking community. Much to the relief of a few regulars I suspect.
Horny, Hun....................post and be damned!
So some people don't like your slant on things...................they don't rule this site, everyone is entitled to post if they wish. And if you do recieve unpleasant PM's, report them to admin...............that is out of order.
I'm mostly a lurker ( god I hate that expression, can't we just be observers or readers or summink!!!) and a very rare poster. Think its just that I rarely feel profound enought to spend the time composing something meaningful....and lets face it there is some pretty deep and meaningful stuff on this site. Instead I float around posting on the occasional light hearted threads.
I'm a terminal sitter on the fence, so stating my case has never been easy, I read a thread and often see both sides of a debate. Also I don't have a competitive bone in my body so can't be arsed getting stuck in anyway. rolleyes
Peace man :giggle:
I'm just too lazy to type smile
Rather keep my energy for other things :) lol

But by the same token you're opinion is valued by the very nature of it in the first place. The reason you prefer not to become involved in posting is you're choice, however as I have found out very quickly. You're point is Just that!! I maybe judged by some I may be not, but I do have my own opinions on things here and in life in general. It is MY choice to become involved or not. Your own thoughts are most welcome, even if you are sitting on the fence, as in most things in life we all have opinions, wether or not we choose to share them is in essentially the same thing.
biggrin

Maybe some of you non-posters could take the plunge today and tell me what puts you off about posting. I, at least, promise not to flame you. biggrin

Ok Lissa, well here goes this lurkers first post!
Have so enjoyed reading many threads, replies and responses and have had many a giggle, guess its a confidence thing with me, and maybe a lack of pc experience???
Anyhow, the plunge has been taken and if i dont get flamed maybe i'll be back, hopefully with some worth while comments

Thank you, LondonPlaything. Credit where it's due, though - you were there before me.
It took me ages to work out how to attach the picture as a sig. Must remember to take the sig decoration down by Twelfth Night.

The Lurkers....... Now they were a good band from the late 70's, from Fulham I believe.
But long split up so I don't think they can answer any questions
