I have recently had a few comments on my pictures, both on here & on my PC. It seems that I cant smile for a photograph (unless someone says a dirty comment to me as the pic is being taken!) wink
Does anyone else have the same problem or any suggestions how I can overcome this or do I have to have dirty comments before each picture is taken?
Dunno about the smile... but you could do with a flash on the camera :giggle:
Did you just make me look at your profile?
thats a lovely grin you've got in your avatar :giggle:

Bad meaty...bad bad meaty
Having worked as a Assistant Photographer in the past, if I needed to get someone to smile I would say think of your favourite thing. This would normally raise a smile then I would say No! Not that! your second favourite then!
This is where I would normally get a laugh/smile and snap one good photo.
(It does work better saying it than reading it though!)
Also I found that if the subject didn’t look directly into the lens but just to the bottom of it the photograph looked better. This was fine with the older cameras with big lenses but with the digital cameras of today it is harder to do.
So my advice would be not to say it but think of the rudest thing you can! It should bring a smile to your face!
As an after thought what’s wrong with dirty comments? lol
Thanks for the comments Rod I'll give it a try next time. biggrin
So Meaty are you trying to tell me its not a good idea to have a curry next time I have my pics taken?
What about cabbages & sprouts?????

cabage an sprouts????????/ ffs
an whos bin sayin u dont smile on ur pics hun? rolleyes
A beautiful face doesn't always need a smile.
If a smile enhances it only does so if genuine.
Jeez, I sound like Confucious all of a sudden.
LG yer a stunner - that'll do fer me smile or no smile.

That's it!!!! I can't stand having my photo taken, really hate it cos they always turn out so awful .............. but that could be something to do with me deluding myself that I'm a size 10 6ft Elle MacPherson lookalike cos I don't have to look at myself all day long biggrin so being confronted with the real me always comes to a bit of a shock :undecided:
So with that in mind, the fact I hate having my photo taken, it's probably why my grimace smile always looks like I'm having the first pooh after a bout of constipation confused :? :?
So any advice on how to have a lovely pic taken (ie make me look like a size 10 Elle MacPherson), without actually smiling.......... bearing in mind what I thought was a sexy sultry look, comes out like I'm furious about something :undecided: (which could have something to do with why David always jumps into defensive "I didn't do it, wasn't there, didn't see a thing" mood, whenever I do me sexy 'come hither' pout  )
A friend of mine who was into photography told me that if you have your pic taken looking back over your shoulder and leave your face relaxed generally makes for a good pic, something to do with what it does to your muscles if I recall properly??
Personally i like having my picture taken when I have spent all day on the drink and don't care what I look like, have had too many cheesy bad smile pics to count (all now consigned to back bedroom cupboard redface )

Still got the picture of Missy in France looking like an extra in a Morecambe and Wise TV show doing 'bring me sunshine'! Mind you it WAS hot there!

Bad Jags smackbottom Can't believe you've just reminded me of that again :rotflmao:
Missy - the only time ever to want a camera present was to take a picture of all our faces stuck to the same window of the car (cue Indianna Jones :rotflmao: )

She WAS playing boules at the time.. but it's still a cracker. As for Indianna Jones - you have to know that I WASN'T driving... it was in France and it was on the wrong side of the road and it was with a left hand drive car and the hire care had manual gears when Mr Jags is used to an automatic!! It was so flucking funny that every time I hear the theme tune it makes me crease up. La Rochelle to Swinging Heaven was a rocky road that day.
Mind you, when I was driving I can still see the BRIGHT GREEN car that I was following going up a different road at the roundabout from me. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
I've STILL got the pictures of us at m. after 22 - yep 22 - bottles of wine between us. Now that one's worth money!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Oh, Timmy's picture is the BEST of the lot!
:inlove:

OMG I thought it was only me who suffered from this I can't smile on cue with out it looking like a cheesy grin no matter how hard I try , I guess it at least means I'm being genuine when I do smile biggrin
I used to work in a photographic printers and one of the photographers told me, when he does wedding pics and stuff he tells everyone to say Saturday. That way they look more natural than the etched on 'take the photo before I poo my pants' type of grin that most of us are capable of confused
I must say when I had my security pass photo taken for work I purposely stood at an angle to the camera. It didn't help the photo though.

How much of an angle are we talking here?? A slight turn of the head or a full 180 degree, back to the camera type thing? dunno

Oh definitely just a slight turn of the head, probably not enough but I think if I'd turned right around and then peered back ia) i'd have been laughed at (nothing too unusual there) b) got a nasty crick in my neck and have the photo rejected anyway. Also it was a 2 second job, way too busy at the time. Still I think it was better than the first picture taken a few years ago at that place.
Smile for a camera, when I do it it is pure fake and looks that way. The only way to get me to smile at camera is to catch me smiling, off guard.
