I've just joined and it is easy to feel you don't seem to be in on the punchline but stick at it.I've only started chatting on some sites as well and that seems even more daunting.
After a few posts (this is only my 3rd!) it won't be any hassle and you'll be a pro (in the right or both senses!!)

It could be because people are totally sick of folk joining the site and constantly moaning! If people dont like the site, or the people who use it, then nobody makes them use it!
As for the 'Newbies' well we were all new at some stage but as PlumstockSteve says you need to stick at. It also helps if you put some effort in to join in and become one of the regulars rather than just moaning all the time!
