I've come across this ace website called freecycle where you can give stuff away that you would probably dump or not bother/too bulky to sell on ebay and what an excellent way to recycle! You can list anything at all in your local area or if there's something specific you're after then just ask! It costs nothing to join, to give away or collect and it saves the landfill sites becoming more and more full of our crap!
So far I've shifted a load of my son's old board games, cd and shoe racks, shelves and a door! I love it!
check it out
I've got rid of quite a lot of stuff on there too, I think it's fab. Unfortunately we live in a desposable society these days and useable items get dumped in landfil when they needn't.

We have a friend who loves freecycle.......... She rang us with an urgent request for the use of a strong man (Mr M) and a large vehicle to pick up some fantastic top soil....................wonderful I said, lets share (the topsoil not Mr M in this case!).......
Well lets just say the very heavy orange clay wasnt suitable for helping my garden blossom lol (could have recreated a scene from 'Ghost' with her 'topsoil'.............but it did help in another friends garden to fill in some huge holes. See one mans waste is another mans treasure.....
Oh bugger, wish I'd known about this. Got a lovely (for someone, not me!) corner display unit and brand new computer chair out the in front garden waiting for the council to collect. They'll be rotten from the rain by now.
I just looked for this - and found 3 Freecycles. . was a selling site, .com seemed to be about cycling and included selling stuff. It is that is the one for finding/getting rid of stuff for free.
I went into the the Derby one and found A) an ad for Unicef (not the group promised) and B) a requirement to set up a Identity. Was I doing something wrong?

Im just amazed it took you so long to find Freecycle, your life wont be the same again now lol
Its a bit like Ebay but all free.
Someone I know who recently suffered a marriage breakdown and homelessness, completely kitted the new place out using Freecycle and the stuff was amazing, like new most of it.
Happy Freecycling Sassy

Freecycle works as a group, I had to do the same to join, ie set up a ID, worth it though.

TUT trust you! It was never used actually, the screws kept coming loose.

We've been using freecycle for a while now, and I've just picked up a 35mm SLR camera for my daughter for when she starts college.
I think it is a brilliant site
