Bound to be a bit contentious, this, but it's triggered by a conversation was having at the weekend with a girl from a muslim background about "what goes on behind closed doors".
Let's just say that if you thought catholic girls were naughty....
So, I'm wondering how people's backgrounds affect their views on sex.... did anyone here have a religous upbringing? How do you feel it's affected your sexuality?

Did you have a religious upbringing?
It’s a hard one really you can’t really reconcile the two, you want to please every one and in the end you please no one. I’ve chosen to ignore a big chunk of my religion and give in to the dark side. Let’s hope I’ve made the right choice

I don’t think having a religious up bringing effected my view on sex I’ve always had a healthy interest in it :) . As long as the parents don’t find out about it it’s all cool. :) .

)))))))) Does it matter if you are religious or not, afterall we are all human. Of course there are those that feel obliged to follow whatever faith and feel they are letting down all around them by having an alter ego which loves sex etc.

We are both Roman Catholic, but neither of us follow our religion very closely. We do have an old friend who has become a priest, but you won't be surprised to hear that we haven't suggested a threesome to him.
The Catholic church in our opinion has such harmfull ideas relating to homosexuality and contraception that we just can't take it seriously when it comes to sex.

I Didn't have a religious upbringing. Even though religion was rammed down our throats at school. I am deeply religious now. I don't follow any organised religion but I have an interest in gnosticism and the ultimate anti religious guru of all time OSHO. He wrote a book called from sex to superconsciousness a very good read

:D :D but my mum is very prudish about sex .......(probably why my dad is a grumpy old sod)........so I don't go into detail about any sights i might visit etc. I remeber her saying to my sister after she had had her first kids"oh just think now you don't have to go through all that "mess" again now you've had kids" my sister just looked at her and went on to have two more kids.

Anyone who has been subjected to a restrictive regime will more than likely go O.T.T
when freedom is attained.
For example; a convent girl who becomes a stripper, or someone who becomes single again with a single's freedom after a long term restrictive / boring relationship.
