driving home this evening we saw a clump of feathers on the road, "oh i hope that isnt an owl", said wild rose, i got out and checked ,yep sure enough it was a tawny owl, i got back in the car and said "wouldnt it be sad if you could hear its mate calling toowit", (tawny owls go toooowit, then the partner goes towooo , in case you didnt know), sure enough one hundred yards down the road and we are home, toowit ........................tooooowit.............................tooowit,,,,,,, seems that sad call will haunt us all night tonight............. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:
Mrs Owl is probably sitting on her perch right now... rolling pin in wing.... thinking.... 'Just wait till I get my feather's on the git!!!.. out bleedin shagging all night. grrrr'......
A lesson here ladies methinks .... hehehe
p.s. I once run over a pheasant on the M25..... the daft bugger actually speeded up to get in the middle lane and in front of my car. There was an explosion of feathers and the teenagers in the car behind me were pissing themselves. (Got a little Pheasant Sticker with a red diagonal line through it stuck to my driver's door now!)
Aaaw that's so sad. Mr Redbird has a real thing for owls. We just been on an "owl encounter" afternoon that I bought him for Christmas. He got to fly loads of different owls. They were lovely. The barn owl is such a beautiful creature.
