No more Scotty......
Just heard on the news... that the "beam me up Scotty" bloke is dead.......
I know not important but... I was gob smacked and thought i'd share it with anyone else
In 1973, he complained to his dentist, who advised him: "Jimmy, you're going to be Scotty long after you're dead. If I were you, I'd go with the flow.
"I took his advice and since then everything's been just lovely."
He came to embrace his Scotty character and attended Star Trek fan conventions into his 80s, before falling ill.
Doohan became a father again at the age of 80, when his wife Wende gave birth to daughter Sarah.
His last public appearance was in October 2004 when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Sounds a heck of a man.........

According to the information I read he was born in Canada, though given his name I think it 's fairly likely he had a lot of Scots in his family tree, but then again so do a hell of a lot of Canadians.
He fought in the Canadian army in WWII (he lost a finger on D-day - only visible in two episodes of Star Trek) and then managed to become known as 'the craziest pilot in the RCAF' after a particularly death-defying near miss.
i stand corrected ..the bloke on the radio this morning misled me
RIP Scotty sad
As a child I loved the original series of Star Trek, but when they changed to all the ones where people had two heads and horns coimg out of their bodies it went down hill fast.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
he can'ne take any more captain!
wonder if he will get the gene roddenberry treatment and get his ashes taken up into space?
He cannae give any more power, Cap'n!!!
It's ok.... Spock will revive him in the next film.......... they can do things like that on Star Trek!!!
