ok - I often buy stuff from e-bay - mainly fetish wear and for the most part I've been very lucky and got some fab bargains.
about 6 months ago I bought a couple of leather corsets (brand new) that were great value and quality and best of all delivered mega quick.
Back in jan I bought another 3 from the same seller, different story this time though - 2 of them arrived last week (waited a month) and the communication from the seller as to why they took so long was not good at all, he kept giving different postal dates etc)
the last of the 3 bought back in jan (and paid for instantly via paypal) arrived today - along with 2 more corsets the same as the ones that arrived last week!!!!
Do I tell him that he sent an extra 2 by mistake or keep them and sell them on elsewhere?
I know what I SHOULD do but do feel a bit peeved that it's taken so long for them to arrive and the guy hasn't even apologised.
oooooooo

sell them or donate them to miss reds ..................corset fund
Have to agree
keep um its not look he was keen to email you before hand
if you ever get a reply moan about the fact you should keep them for all the hasstle he gave you and if need be send them back
otherwise enjoy the presents
Please tell him. the delay may not have been his fault, could have been the post office or he may have been ill or anything.
With clothing lines in particular, ebay traders dontmake that much profit hence the costs are so low.
i would look at it as complimentary gift for the late arrival and sell them on if you wish
Keep them, providing he has already left you positive feedback for the ones you have paid for!If he realises what he's done you could end up with bad feedback for something that was his own fault!

I can understand what you are saying and do feel this is the right thing to do - although it doesn't excuse his lack of communication and general lack of manners or the excuses he kept giving me
...............And is he likely to return the postage it will cost you to send them back? rolleyes

No it dosnt excuse his behaioour but niiether is it an excuse for you to keep them. Just email him tell him whats happened and point out how dis satisfied you were with his service. Obviously if he wants the surplus goods posting back he has to arrange a postage payment to you first before you send them, There is a chance he may not want to bother and tell you to keep the goods in which case you have a clear conscience
I'd keep them or sell them on (if they fit me i'll have one please mmmmm)
Kindly return the two extra corset's we sent you.
Thank You innocent
I agree that you have to let the seller know you got more by mistake and ask him what he wants you to do. If you were dissatisfied with the service/communication, you can always leave negative feedback.
let the seller beware
Keep the buggers, enjoy them, use them to your advantage as you would have used the money spent on them
provblems with any of that.... send em to me, I will distribute them to needy persons wink
Hmmmm....is it pinch a penny lose a pound or is it a gift from the Gods?
Gifts from the Gods usually leave you feeling good about receiving them though.
I know I'd feel guilty if I kept them.
Sorry I'm not much help. You're on your own in deciding this one hun.

The best thing in my opinion too.

Hummmm, well I'm pissed off with a certain seller on ebay. I ordered a basque three weeks ago and it has still not come. I emailed him yesterday to complain - he has not got back to me yet. Could it be the same people I wonder evil
Lil_Bunny,
IF you decide to keep them, do you think one would fit Shel, you know what size she is, cos she has been looking for something like that.

I agree with Foxy. I am an e-bay seller and sometimes I do make mistakes. The lack of communication and delay in sending is not right - but you can always put that in his feedback. But sellers don't generally make a lot of money and "two wrongs don't make a right". If I have to get someone to send something back, I refund the cost of the postage as that is only fair.
At the end of the day - only you can decide what is best though.
i'd keep a buyer and seller on ebay myself i pride myself by giving a fast service to my customers and as soon as payment is given the goods are sent first class(sold 3 items today and one was not even listed biggrin )as service has been very poor i would keep the items as compensation for the time you have had to think you could have needed this item for an importent event or meeting wink .just for the record i have a 100% feedback rating and i am now looking to to selling on ebay full time as soon as i decide on the right products to sell.
I find managing a number of sales at the same time on eBay quite hard. User names, email addresses and real names, then I'm shopping for Dad etc., all make tracking who's paying for what quite hard. The recently improved eBay software helps a little, but still when someone comes on the phone saying "I'm Mr Smith and I bought so-and-so" and you flash up My eBay and there's nothing remotely like Smith it can confuse.
I think you ought to tell them, but since they would have to do a third party collection from you with Parcel Force that'll cost them £8 or £9 they may just say keep them. You'll be doing your best being honest, they will have increased their goodwill with you. E-v-e-r-b-o-d-y 'appy.
Inform the seller... tell him what's happened and ask him to arrange for them to be collected... it was his mistake... The ball is in his court then for him/her to sort it out.
So would I be fair then to also charge the seller the same postage rate I paid him?
The parcel came with postage paid on it yet he charged me !!
I bet if I e-mail him and let him know he has made a mistake he'll reply in less than 24 hours, unlike the week it took for him to reply to my e-mail asking when I would receive the corsets.
Still making up my mind
dunno
