One more reason to seek a man pronto!
Any men who'd like to become my sex toy? cool
The plastic bottles such as those that most spring waters come in release toxins into the water if exposed to sunlight.
Every piece of metal on earth contains levels of radiation
A large number of computer componants contain cancer causing substances
the ice caps are melting and London will soon be under water
and the scare mongering goes on and on and on rolleyes

Can you help with this? Before I met him, so that's more than thirteen years ago. my Number One used to fly SCUBA divers up to Scapa Flow. He doens't know if it's true but he was told, and he told me, that the only metal in the world that has no radioactivity is in that German Fleet on the bottom.

sort of........the scapa wrecks sank before the atomic bomb was tested and used thus contaminating every bit of metal on earth with radioactivity, the wrecks are free from it due to being under water as is anything that sank before the bomb was used.
Metal is used from the scapa wrecks for use in guega counters (spelling dunno) for calibration purposes as they are radioactive free smile

but if you bring these bits up, do they not then become radioactive themselves?

not sure how they do it but they do, I guess they seal it in something then bring it up, or prehaps deep below the scapa flow there is an entire geiger counter factory lol

No its when its melted and combined with other contaminats like air for instance. All pre-war metal has lower traces due to the atomic fall out from weapons testing etc.
NASA has been known to use some in its very delicate sensors aboard the space shuttle and some satelites.

In keeping with sheddy's
huge bank of useless general knowlage trivia
everytime you've ever watched a nautical archeaology number on Discovery or similar stuff is ALWAYS sealed in seawater to stop it oxidizing/generally going crappy before they have a chance to treat it properly. I'd guess if it's especially sensitive they'd take even more care.
Did you want your thread back now?
see gals.........put away your toys and call for justa

OK Guys
I know this shit, I do it for a living
Pthalates are widely used to make uPVC (the hard shit windows are made of) into that lovely flexible stuff that goes in to your toys.
The problem is that there is evidence that pthalates may cause sterility in male rats when eaten (No not when U eat the rat). This is a known as a class 3 reproductive toxin. Ie only circumstatial evidence exists from animal studies.
The big problem was that pthalates were very widely used in packaging print, ie Crisp packets, and the food giants jumped on it and have lobbied lots of organisations for a ban throughout europe overr the last 20 years. Someone worked out that to gain a significant Pthalate exposure by eating crisps you would have to eat about 200 packs a day for a month.
So your flexible friend has 3-5% of pthalates, which are only classed as dangerous if eaten (noy just sucked). Exposure will be absolutely negligable.
Hey you are much more likely to have a latex allergy from a condom.
Stay Safe, have fun
