What happens if you've only got one sock on (which I have at the mo') - what does it mean.

I was halfway through a reply, stopped to preview it and realised you'd captured my very answer far more succinctly in your first paragraph, Sappho.
All I can do is agree that the difference between sexual "pampering" and "satisfaction" to me is analagous with the difference between doing things purely for your partners pleasure rather than for the pair of you.
The "pampering" is in the fact that the feeding of your partners sexual desires is done purely with the love of the act and who it's for, rather than with a target in mind.
Sappho, your mention of prolonged oral is a perfect example - giving the enjoyment of oral without the need to race to the climax, so to speak.
Have I helped made things clearer or muddied the waters....?
