Hi folks, just wondering if there is any sort or application/mobile version of the website for the iphone?
Stuart
I haven't seen it as one of the apps on the advert - can't imagine why. biggrin
haha! Apple say they have apps for everything! biggrin
I'm wondering about all the "apps"... applications is it?
well, anyway... why so many 'apps'?
Surly the phone, being so blasted good as we're so well informed, should simply "do the internet"?
does it have to be an "App" for each and every website you night chose to visit?
lp
I asked Admin about this before because there is an app you can get for other websites which I use, but because of the makeup of the site (don't know the techy explanantion!) it wasn't compatible with the app.
You can still view it through the browser, but it's nowhere near as good as using the app I use elsewhere.
hope that helps

Apps often do something specific - like mimic a set of dice or a spirit level. I think you need an app to make 'normal' shaped websites look sensible on the iphone screen and to let you interact with the commands easily.

oh I see... so isn't there an Internet Explorer "app"?
or a Firefox "App"?
That might be a good solution mightn't it?

You can browse the internet, that's completely normal for the I-phone. However, if you imagine getting everything on this page down to the size of an I-phone screen, then you can imagine the problems you would have trying to see everything and navigate around the page. With an app like I use for some other sites, it reforms the page so that you can read it normally, such as new threads, avatars etc. It's a bit difficult to fully explain, but trust me, it works better through an app!

I browsed the net once, though found it stuck between the teath rather too readilly.
I think I understand Mal...
so, are they good telephones?
(with or without SH?)

The iPhone AND the iPod Touch "do the internet" straight out of the box. Simply use Safari, Apple's own browser, and this site launches perfectly. As far as reading the text on the site, you can use landscape mode and enlarge the image on the screen using your fingers, via the "Gestures" technology.
There might be an issue with the chatroom but in all other respects you get the full internet NOT a cut down version.

I'm replying on my iPhone now, I can view everything except chat. That requires flash and apple don't allow that, just tried the playroom and same thing.
Facebook won't allow some stuff via safari, but if you download the app it's fine. All it takes is someone with an app licence to build one that allows flash
not replied yet using my iPhone.... till now.... not that bad actually......
no chatroom but can't have everything..........
Had a little look at the site on my iPhone earlier, it doesn't look to bad actually, fairly easy to navigate etc,
hmmmm i dont think it going to be as good as the desktop just yet browsing the site, im a windows mowbul user and i user opera10 which work fine and i discovered using skyfire i can even go into the chatrooms and even see cams wow!! that was quite cool anyway an app which coule be synced to your mailbox and advert and notify you if there is a local matchup in profile..........oooooo..i'll buy that app..(shhh but only if it on windows mowbul)
Forums, search, mailing etc are all good using a safari browser on iPhone. Don't forget the iPhone is built on Apple technology not Microsoft. The unfortunate thing is that there is still no flash player and therefore no chatroom access. Typos can be a problem too, which is the excuse I intend upon sticking too.
