No you didnt, anyone who is just looking and not willing to join as a full member can just register as a free member and see all profiles and photos that aren't in a private gallery. This IS public access to anyone who has access to the internet. All it takes is five minutes to register as a free member and you can see the lot. Even though the photos are thumbnails, they and the full profiles can be seen.

Im sorry your statement is incorrect ALL profiles are private at the moment unless you are a member (they are not publically visable on the net). ALL galleries are restricted to over 18+ members. Free joined up members get to see Non adult thumbnails only. And EVERY member has a private gallery AND private on upload feature.
Everything on the WHOLE site used to be public to ANYONE anywhere on the net without even being a member. That included every single picture on the site!. Log out and have a look around it will confirm the above.

one thing if possible would be nice....is to see the status of membership. We have a symbol for those who have upgraded to extras.....could we perhaps have a symbol for those that not fully fledged members yet.
Maybe full with extra's..could be gold members
Full members without extras could be silver members
those signed up,but not fully members could be bronze.

You can opt out of having your pictures in the gallery... I don't have mine there. No-one can see my pics.. well, admin and the mods can.. and perhaps their mates... but I couldn't really care less as I know neither my boss or my son use this site and they are two people I would rather not saw my naked.

I know it is not relevant to the photo gallery, but why can we not see who has 'Extras' apart from in the chatrooms and photo ads? If I want to check out someone's profile (purely in the interests of research, you understand wink ), it would be handy to know if they knew it was me. I've had any number of pm's saying 'you looked at my profile (again redface )' when I didn't want to get involved in e-mail tennis with the owner - usually because either they don't live within 100 miles or otherwise fall into my 'requirements' criteria.

I did say you had to be a member, although free members are what I was talking about, those who just join to look at who is on the site. And yes I was mistaken about the adult content pics being visible, but the point remains that anyone with internet access can join, and for free, and look at non adult pics that are not in private as well as your profile content. So I suppose the answer is to make your pics all private. Because face pics are openly visible if in the public gallerly on your profile.

you only have to make private those pics you don't want to be openly visable, unless of course, all your pics contain face pics? IMHO, it's not really a good idea to have face pics on display to all and sundry..but obviously there are some that are not bothered who sees their face pics. Each to their own.

I dont often post in the forums, but will add my views on recent changes. I have not liked all the changes made, but understand that at the end of the day SH is no different to any other business, it has to move forward and try and cater for as many as possible. Like any buisness its the MAJORITY not the minority that will always fair better. At least you have this option to say what you would like, there are hundreds of sites out there where you do not and just have to put up with what ever the site owners want to do.
I for one feel that in no way does the new changes make it more of a vouyer site, in fact i think its done the total opposite. Vouyers and pic collectors are not going to bother with a few thumb nail pics that they find when they can search the net and find VERY much more revealing pictures
We have all at some stage in our time on here come across those who we lable as “Time wasters” if we have not im sure that we know someone who has come across them. The recent changes, to me make that even less of an oppertunity for these types now, as they have to put more effort into their time wasting. We all moan about those who never bother to read a profile.
Now to me those who are more serious about meeting and not time wasting are more likely to take that time, and also send invites out to private gallerys. I for one have found this and get many invites to view peoples private pictures. Even when i clearly state on my profile i am not meeting at the moment.
Those that have not bothered to read my profile do not get a reply, because i have put some effort into making my profile work for me, i have filled out and given details that are relevent to suit me, but what i tend to get is, “I know your not meeting at this time, but if that changes then i would be intrested in meeting you”

Ignore them they soon give up, give them a reaction they will persist in doing it. BE IN CONTROL and at the end of the day, to be honest, if all else fails you have an ON/OFF button.
This is just my views, and regardless of status on here, i use the site as I WANT i make the EFFORT to have any changes work for me and will carry on doing so with any future changes that will be made.

We made a promise to the members of this site when we took it over. That was we would not charge them for anything. A lot of them have stuck around and have seen the benefits. Some flounced assuming the worst, and others just came here from time to time to cause trouble and were shown the door.

There lies the biggest problem.
You will never please everyone, so just please what the majority want.
We are " free " members, and for what we get we are more than happy with. We pay nothing at all so any changes are ok with us.
Nothing in life is perfect including this site but....on the whole it is run very well, and am sure if people give the new site a chance it will be ok.
As has been said, when it goes live then is the time to moan and groan about things, and if they get enough moans I am sure they will look into it.

Exactly my point.... you dont like whispers you can ignore them or turn them off... if you dont like the chat dont use it, if you dont like forums dont use them... we dont like the gallery but we cant choose not to use it cause to do so we are forced to make our pics private, stopping us from using the profiles properly... ie we cant have a picture on our profile!

You don't like the gallery, so opt out and use a private album. That way you have complete control over who can access your pictures.
OK, so now you have the problem of no profile pic ..... but wait. You have a picture in your avatar (the little pic on the left above your name) :idea: .
There's one or two options here now. One is that it is a picture of you that you are happy to share with the entire forum, plus the world and his wife, as you can see the av pics even if you're just browsing the site as a guest, so you could use that as your profile pics to entice people in. Two is that it's not a picture of you (well one of you anyway), in which case there's no way you can use it in your profile, so we're back to square one again.
There is another option though (as someone else suggested). You can manipulate the pictures you have in a million different ways to make yourself completely unrecognisable so unless you have some very large, very distinctive features on your bodies, it will look like a lot of other peoples bodies. ;)

2) Pics, but in a private folder (user has decided to take control and restrict who sees their pics and when).
3) Pics but with any distinguishing marks/features manipulated to protect identity (user has decided to take control and manipulate the images to become indistinguishable).
4) Pics where the user is very recognisable (user has decided to take control and say "Screw you world!!! This is me and I don't give a shit!!!" :lol2: ).
All of the profiles I have looked at fall into these categories, but the important point to note is that each individual took some accountability for their own property (ie the pics) and for their own levels of comfort (ie the way they opted to alter the pics if they wished) and made their own choice about what to do with them.
As others on here prove, the system works if you work with it. ;)

I made my own choice. However it wasn't really the choice I wanted to make. It was the only choice I was left with. There's a difference. wink
I choose not to have my pics in the public gallery. Therefore the only choice open to me was to have them in my private gallery. That wasn't a willing choice. That's the only choice I'm left with because I don't have the choice to opt out of the gallery keeping my pics on my profile without making them private. It's not really much of a choice.
I choose not to mail people who don't have pics. How many people choose not to mail me for the same reason?

But as someone pointed out, you have a pic on your forum avtar ? It seems that most people have 2 reasons for making their pics private, 1) To stop non paying/Full members from seeing them. 2) To advoid a picture being Tagged.
Pictures are more secure now than ever before to be honest. You have a choice like everyone else. Use the options you are given or manipulate the choices to work for you.
As i said your Avatar pic is available for ALL to see, so why do you not use this on your profile. If you want to advoid your pic being tagged you put it in your private gallery. There was a lot of negative feedback to start with on that, and i also was unsure of it to start with, but we have all seen how it has worked, making searches far quicker and eaiser to use, which is what the majority wanted.
As i said i was unsure of the Tagging, but have seen the benefits of this, and yes some have been Tagged wrong, and by the own profile member, but they are checked and corrected by Mods on a daily basis im sure, just to make sure they go into the right catorgory. With the amount of pictures that are uploaded on a daily basis, its an ongoing job.
If anything i think the new changes makes the chances of you finding “genuine” swingers even more likely. Less likely to get the ones who just want to perve/vouyers. As they will have to put more effort into perving, where they can find it much easier elswhere.
As for those profiles i view who say they have been inactive for over 2 weeks, i dont bother with those, simply because it idicates to me that they may be taking a break for what ever reason. If im intrested then i watch the profile for a while to see when they are active again by adding them to my favorites. Not rocket science to be honest, just a little common sense.
The one thing everyone does have, is a CHOICE . You have a choice to make an effort to have the changes work for you, or you dont.
DG, i think its such a shame that you decided to remove ALL of your profile, it was always witty and clever and a pleasure to read. Your pictures were always very very good, sexy and alluring. Your an intelligent, funny, witty person to name just a few. I know that you had concerns over Tagging, as i did as well, but to be honest i think now after i have seen how it works, given it the time, those fears were unfounded.
With your level of intelligence and very little effort on your part, im sure that you could make your pics the same again without fear of being noticed by someone you know. I for one know that when you did have your pics on your profile, and then on meeting you, there is no way i could have recognised you. As i said with your level of intelligence, your pics could be there, and a witty profile added, once agian making sure that your mailbox is over flowing with those who are of interest , i know you could make ALL the changes work for you, making sure that you get excatly what you want.

But it isn't the only choice. Do you really need to have all your pics in the gallery, or could you 'adapt' one or two as a taster, while keeping the ones of you and the chicken in your private gallery. I'm sure you've had pics of various body parts in your av, so why's that different to using some tweaked shots in the profile pics?
You can crop, colour, styalise , distort or plain blank out to create some amazing pictures and it doesn't have to detract anything from the feel or intent of the photo, in fact it can enhance them, so why not do that?
You can adjust the pics with software that's pretty cheap, to completely remove the third leg and second head now. ;) .....

they can seacrh by postcode... but the first thing that comes up is a names list, then when you click on a name it goes to a profile then you read the profile and eventually get to the pics.... you have to put effort in to get to those pics.
in the gallery one click for distance another for search and hey presto pictures! wohoo... so much more easier, if i wanted to find someone i knew in my area i know which route i'd go down!

As far as I have seen the people who make the biggest fuss about whispers still have them switched on ...
How else could they show everybody how important they are if they couldn`t keep going on and on and on about how people keep whispering them ???

:lol2: you can choose who see's your cams in the chat rooms. you can pick and choose when you put it on. i was in a room the other day when a member on cam chose to turn it of because they recognised someone who came into the room, then when that person left the room, they chose put it back on.
the thing is they had the choice, it was something they were able to make as the option was there...

But as someone pointed out, you have a pic on your forum avtar ? It seems that most people have 2 reasons for making their pics private, 1) To stop non paying/Full members from seeing them. 2) To advoid a picture being Tagged.
Pictures are more secure now than ever before to be honest. You have a choice like everyone else. Use the options you are given or manipulate the choices to work for you.
As i said your Avatar pic is available for ALL to see, so why do you not use this on your profile. If you want to advoid your pic being tagged you put it in your private gallery. There was a lot of negative feedback to start with on that, and i also was unsure of it to start with, but we have all seen how it has worked, making searches far quicker and eaiser to use, which is what the majority wanted.
As i said i was unsure of the Tagging, but have seen the benefits of this, and yes some have been Tagged wrong, and by the own profile member, but they are checked and corrected by Mods on a daily basis im sure, just to make sure they go into the right catorgory. With the amount of pictures that are uploaded on a daily basis, its an ongoing job.
If anything i think the new changes makes the chances of you finding “genuine” swingers even more likely. Less likely to get the ones who just want to perve/vouyers. As they will have to put more effort into perving, where they can find it much easier elswhere.
As for those profiles i view who say they have been inactive for over 2 weeks, i dont bother with those, simply because it idicates to me that they may be taking a break for what ever reason. If im intrested then i watch the profile for a while to see when they are active again by adding them to my favorites. Not rocket science to be honest, just a little common sense.
The one thing everyone does have, is a CHOICE . You have a choice to make an effort to have the changes work for you, or you dont.
DG, i think its such a shame that you decided to remove ALL of your profile, it was always witty and clever and a pleasure to read. Your pictures were always very very good, sexy and alluring. Your an intelligent, funny, witty person to name just a few. I know that you had concerns over Tagging, as i did as well, but to be honest i think now after i have seen how it works, given it the time, those fears were unfounded.
With your level of intelligence and very little effort on your part, im sure that you could make your pics the same again without fear of being noticed by someone you know. I for one know that when you did have your pics on your profile, and then on meeting you, there is no way i could have recognised you. As i said with your level of intelligence, your pics could be there, and a witty profile added, once agian making sure that your mailbox is over flowing with those who are of interest , i know you could make ALL the changes work for you, making sure that you get excatly what you want.

we have an avatar pic that is virtually impossible to distinguish as us...
we liked having the pics we had on our profile as it gave people a breif indication of what we looked like, i.e. body size, shape, age, the fact we had pics of us both showed we were a couple, the pictures basically were a taster of us and clarified our profile. the pic we use as an avatar would do none of these! we would not meet someone who hasn't got pics on their profile and yet now we are being forced to do that very thing.
We didn't have face pics on there but had clothed and underwear pics. now these pictures if spotted by people we know could identify us by the clothes we wore, the places we were etc... that is the reason we took them off our profile, if someone found us browsing the profiles te were more then likely on the site looking for the same thing as us. people may use the gallery for searching for meets though i dont know why, you can only search for asthetic features of people - not search for couples, singles, who are looking for your "type".
Now we have never said that we dislike the idea of the gallery we just do not intend to "star" in it ourselves... we feel it is a glorified amature porn section and if people want to have their pics in there, well its fine with us. the gallery will occupy the pic collectors and the perves leaving the profile search - which is more long winded and slower to find pictures - alone, which means if we do have pics in our profiles its more likely that only swingers will look at them. so as far as we are concerned long live the wank bank! :giggle:

nowhere in that does she say she did it cause of tagging, she did it cause pics automatically go into the gallery... if you actually take the time to read posts properly you might have realised this! and what makes you think you can be so patronising with the your inteligent enough bit... why the hell should she have to adapt her pics so she can show them on a page, her pics arent there purely for you enjoyment! they are there for whatever reason she wishes to use them for... and she obviously feels she cant do that because of the gallery!
she is not the only chatroom op/moderator who has commented against pics automatically going into the gallery. there have also been comments made about a verification system which, hey guess what... we dont like the sound of - a system that tells people who's had who... sort of like a "done list" as opposed to a to do list lol. if verification comes and we can "OPT OUT" then thats fine. we met people off here and chatted loads, been to socials, so we dont need verification... however we feel sorry for those who join the site not knowing anyone, as these people are the ones who may be shunned as they haven't got a SHREP as martin_m called it (must admit i did like the name).

OK, so now you have the problem of no profile pic ..... but wait. You have a picture in your avatar (the little pic on the left above your name) :idea: .
There's one or two options here now. One is that it is a picture of you that you are happy to share with the entire forum, plus the world and his wife, as you can see the av pics even if you're just browsing the site as a guest, so you could use that as your profile pics to entice people in. Two is that it's not a picture of you (well one of you anyway), in which case there's no way you can use it in your profile, so we're back to square one again.
There is another option though (as someone else suggested). You can manipulate the pictures you have in a million different ways to make yourself completely unrecognisable so unless you have some very large, very distinctive features on your bodies, it will look like a lot of other peoples bodies. ;)
Have a look through the site, most profiles fall into one of four categories:
1) No pics (user has decided to take control and not to have pics on the site)
2) Pics, but in a private folder (user has decided to take control and restrict who sees their pics and when).
3) Pics but with any distinguishing marks/features manipulated to protect identity (user has decided to take control and manipulate the images to become indistinguishable).
4) Pics where the user is very recognisable (user has decided to take control and say "Screw you world!!! This is me and I don't give a shit!!!" :lol2: ).
All of the profiles I have looked at fall into these categories, but the important point to note is that each individual took some accountability for their own property (ie the pics) and for their own levels of comfort (ie the way they opted to alter the pics if they wished) and made their own choice about what to do with them.
As others on here prove, the system works if you work with it. ;)

You can crop, colour, styalise , distort or plain blank out to create some amazing pictures and it doesn't have to detract anything from the feel or intent of the photo, in fact it can enhance them, so why not do that?

As for tagging ..... completely different bucket of sardines that one. :?

Why should we manipulate our pictures so that they look like everyone elses? why should we? we are all individuals on this site not a lot of block heads blurry faces with square or blurred tatoo's... we are who we are, our pics were there to show people what we are like.
Before the gallery people could read our profile and look at the pics that we were happy to have in our profile and message us, then if we all got on we might send our face pic, then if things went further maybe some rudie pics lol now we have no choice but to appear in the wank bank if we want to have a pic on a profile...
As far as we are concerned the gallery is a benifit for the site, it gives the perves and pic collectors a place to congregate, away from the profiles and chat... we have noticed a lot less wank cams and whispering picture collectors (if people want to be in the gallery and be these guys(or girls) collection/wank fodder then fine). the perves and pic collectors generate a good income for site and get us the developments and improvements we've seen.
we just dont want to be in the gallery we have the choice of taking part in all other sections of the site... the forum, chat, whispers, quickies, you can choose whether or not to display your friends... you get a choice about everything apart from having pictures on your profile without having them appear in the gallery.
we still firmly believe it wouldnt be too difficult to have a 3 or 4 folder system for uploading/holding pics on the site or an opt out button... and feel it would not affect the site at all by setting them up, after all, most of those against having their pics in the gallery have put them to private anyway. so the site isn't going to lose or gain anything from it. the owners will gain... it will show they are willing to listen to veiws of its members, it wont hurt the people who like the gallery if there is an opt out... so if it hurts nobody and the site is being revamped why not do it?
3 or 4 folders or an opt out button... thats all we need

As it happens I agree that having the option to not be in the gallery is a good idea but my point is, that your voice is just too small on such a large site and with hardly any support. You are not the majority, its pretty simple, sorry.

i know we are in a minority, and it it was a major life changing thing we were asking for then i'd understand, its not going to have a massive impact on the site just make a few people happier thats all lol

is there an option to hide our profile until we can decide if we like the new site please ?
are we going to get a proper preview of the site before it goes live so we can see how it looks to other people and how it comes up in the search engines or do we just have to sit here and wait and see this is after all our personal information ?

This site works well for me and is far improved on the original site. I really can't see what the issue is with the pics in the gallery. I have pics that I would not want on public display so they are in my private gallery....if anyone wants to see them ( I wish!) all they have to do is ask. No problem! If there was an option to have private pics on public display on your profile but not to appear in the gallery, these pics could still be seen by any paying member plus anyone else present at the time, "stumbling" accross your profile and the likelyhood is that it would probably be people living close to you using the post code search facility. Not something I would want.
I'm more than happy with how things are at present and will take a good look at any future developments before thinking about being critcal.

they can seacrh by postcode... but the first thing that comes up is a names list, then when you click on a name it goes to a profile then you read the profile and eventually get to the pics.... you have to put effort in to get to those pics.
in the gallery one click for distance another for search and hey presto pictures! wohoo... so much more easier, if i wanted to find someone i knew in my area i know which route i'd go down!
Err, no. When searching by postcode, the first thing that comes up is a list of names ACCOMPANIED by a public profile pic, if there are any. No effort required at all.
