Not really a sexist comment but more a matter of fact in my case. I can't bloody stand it. It's no exaggeration when I say I have literally ran out of shops before now because I've reached the point of clostraphobia where I'm about to scream out loud "get out of my fookin way". How can one person dawdle along and despite the ailses being at least 6 foot wide manage to block the whole lot off? causeing a bottle neck of gigantic proportions couple that with screaming children, people running into me with trollies and it's more than I can take.
Luckily with both of us getting time off in the week we can go to the shops then and in all honesty it's enjoyable just to stroll round and have a browse. But from time to time weekend trips to the shops are called for :scared: the last one resulted in me leaving PK in the Trafford Centre as I knew I was a breakign point and I simply said can I have the car keys please I'll wait outside and I was off like a shot bolt to the fresh(ish) quiet outside.
Today I've had to venture out with out her and brave the hoards myself I've been clothes shopping for next weekend, battled my way round the food court at M&S and then ventured into Tescos which it took me 10 mintues to fathom out how to get into redface. All this in an area I'm not really used to and shops I don't know my way around. Not sure if I have a home any more not seen it for weeks lol
I sit here a broken man with a large cup of black coffee and a packet of No1 trying to regain what little is left of my nerves
Right got that off my chest which way is the GFZ I need a large JD confused
Agreed 100%
Weekend shopping is a disaster for me too.
Those who park trolleys side by side for a natter because they havent seen each other for two hours realy do me mad
No not just women either sad
shopping at weekends is plain evil, only beaten by shopping at xmas mad
(although it's much easier if you go without a woman in tow)
I'm with you guys all the waymad: , thank god for online shopping and home delivery, I'll never have to set foot in one of those (disigned by satan himself) places ever again biggrin
now as for gadget shops, that's a totally different matter innocent
Funnily enough food shopping is a particular pet hate of mine !
Why people decide to stop right in the middle of the ailses is just beyond me too ! Pee's me right off I mean how dare they get in my way !
I am terrible sometimes , Mr L often gives me an evil look when I lose my temper while shopping !
I can think of a few times when I have 'accidently' bashed someone in the legs when they have been in my way ! evil

Nothing special just something a bit more smart than I have at the moment and will be usefull for other event's. As for PK she wasn't with me and she doesn't have to buy anything as the lady has clothes for every occasion already remeber Posh by name and Posh by nature (or is it breeding dunno ) either way she will have it covered (well I hope it's not covered too well :rascalsmile but it'll still take her hours to get ready it always does rolleyes
I've just been to Ikea - again! I bought dining chairs but didn't realise til I got home that I had neglected to buy the seperate covers! mad
I'm not a browser, I like to know what I'm going shoppiong for, then go and buy it. However my partner loves walking around and around looking for 'inspiration'. confused
Still...... the chairs do look lovely! cool

Awwww Sheddy! :therethere:
I know exactly how you feel - if I find that the items I want to buy are just inside the entrance, why oh why would I want to spend hours looking at everything else!
I just want to get to the checkout - but some people just walk 2ft then stop, walk another 2ft then stop, get outta ma way!!!!!
:giggle:
i must be the odd male out so far...........
i have no issues whatsoever with it.
with food shopping......... because i like my independence and to have freedom of choice i prefer to be there at the point of sale so i can choose whats going in the trolley.... having said that its been a short while since i did "joint-shopping" regularly but i still know what i like.
id also prefer to be there when my "other half" goes clothes shopping... at least you can offer your opinion if the dress or whatever thats being tried on looks like a pair of your elderly aunts curtains......
or if her bum looks big in it.....
or if you think that the offending items are simply gonna languish in the back of the wardrobe when the cries of " ive got nothing to wear" are ringing in your ears!!! who needs that!
i suppose im a Modern Man..... whatever..... i just think that the slight bit of discomfort that you might have to go thrugh at the front end of the shopping trip outweighs the absolute feckin nightmare that can occurr at home...
patience is also a virtue......................
I personally like to shop alone.
No kids, no hubby just me to please and no-one else! In someone elses oppinion my bum might look big in what I buy or the colour might be wrong, but if I like it I buy it and sod what anyone else thinks.
Having said that though, just before we go out and are getting ready I drive Storm mad with questions like "does my bum look big in this"? "is the colour ok"? is this too short, long, wide, tight, blah blah blah :giggle:
So I might aswell have taken him in the first place dunno

I'm in the minority here as I'm a female who hates shopping in all forms ! I tend to do my food shopping on my way home from a night shift ( ie 7am rolleyes ) as there's not many people around then. I only do clothes shopping when I really have to and if I go for some retail therapy then you KNOW I'm depressed
The only shopping I really enjoy is when I'm in the planning stage of redecorating. I could scour places like The Range and Homebase for hours on end. Tesco's? Keep it. B&Q? Love it :giggle:

But you're not alone though hun!
I have to be in the right frame of mind to go shopping- or I end up wanting to kill!
And why is it.....when you're broke theres loadsa stuff that would really suit you- yet when you have that rare disposable cash- theres absolutely sweet F.A!

Yer on Pete  though I have to point out a few things.
Rule 1 - I do NOT use step ladders while wearing short skirts
Rule 2 - Painting in the nude is not the easiest way to avoid paint splashes on your clothes
On the other hand, a dip in the pool and you have yourself a wet t shirt competition so long as you find someone else to join me

I only like shopping when I am in the mood. I do a lot of it online now instead.
One good thing about taking a man shopping is that he can carry all your bags for you!! lol Other than that they are usually, (in my experience) either nagging you to hurry up, dragging their heels, or agreeing they like everything just to get you out of the shop!! wink
