I was just wondering, if you arrange a meet with a guy and you have to stay in a hotel because neither of you can accommodate, should the guy pay for the hotel?
I've had opinions that say yes the guy should pay cause he's the one getting lucky....but I'm more inclined to think that it should be 50/50.
What do you all think?
as i can very rarely accomidate i do usual have to use hotels, and ive always paid for the room, and / or the meal before hand if. and i never bat an eyelid. its may be the gentleman inside me.

its just how i've always been, might be classed as old fashioned. but its jsut how i was brought up... (fair enoguh i wasn't brought up to be a swinger.. well a person who leads a swinging life but hey.. no ones perfect)

kinda go with JGL on this and probaly for the same reasons, it's just the way it was .........I've always picked up the tab on everything,which would include hotel bills, however both my daughters pay their corner these days when out on a date, so I guess it's just a sign of the times.

Well i think 50/50 is the fair solution ..otherwise like blue i would pay so the room is mine and i could kick the guy out if it was not that good 
In my opinion, all ladies likes to be treated like one.
But the trick is to never expect anything....and then if he turns out to be a gentleman it is a nice surprise.
I wouldnt turn the offer down if the guy wanted to pay. I always have my car to bolt home in if things dont work out....

I believe that if you pay your way then you don’t need to feel obligated to do anything or cant be accused of being on the make.
Slightly off subject – there seems to be a lot of young attractive women out on the town at weekends fluttering their eyelids in order to get guys to buy them a drink. Once achieved theyre off looking for the next victim. This gives women a bad name and can end up with the weirdos and pissed up guys getting aggressive or in extreme cases even .
Our daughter will be encouraged to pay her way and never be beholding to anyone

I agree with all you say and despite my comments above I generally pay half, or often all.
I have never been a taker , always the giver, so I guess it is more wishful thinking than normal behaviour for me to be treated to a night out.
I have always been a very independent girl and being single has allowed me to just support myself - not all the hangers-on that were my ex's - people do love to take advantage of bunny's generosity.
Its time the tables were turned.
I would tell my daughter, if I had one, exactly the same. Pay your way. Absolutely. Apart from anything else there is nothing worse than a gold digger who expects it all to be given to her. Independence is a fine thing.

Maybe I'll show a little naivety here but I'm usually of the opinion that ladies deserveto be treated like one.
If I invite a lady/woman/gurlie out for a meal/stay over/whatever, unless she brings up the subject, I make the invite to be my guest.
Most of you know I'm single again, but when I go to Munches and such, I always book myself a room; if I end up there alone, that's fine. If I have company, all the better; but it would make my skin crawl to ask for a contribution to the room costs.
Chivalry and gentlemanly conduct is alive and well. We sometimes have to curtail such behaviour however, for fear of upsetting the sandal wearing yoghurt knitting PC brigade.

Love the description of the PC feminists. My ex was one of those. Consequently I paid for most things so that she could feel safe in the knowledge that she was treating me as an equal
