It's lucky that the funeral is so soon after the death. Things don't work that fast usually.

It depends. If the person was old or diseased and died in hospital etc (i.e no suspicious or unexplained cause of death), then things can work even faster.
All that is needed is a death certificate.

Seems to me that a certain Mrs Freckledbird got it dead right here. Don't think I want to say any more for fear of inflaming the situation. Yup confused

If the chances are the cause are a long running problem, or are obviously age related and failing ill health then the time can be very short... infact as little as 2-3 days depending on how the departure by the living is to be done.
My late father was a rev, and depending on how and when and release of the body, and more importantly the araingements of the family then most of the time is related to release, then the family making a date a little in the future so others can attend.
3-5 days after release is about average.
I hope I havnt come across as to brutal or blasae... but growing up with my dads life did rather give me a clinical view on it all... doesnt stop me missing him, and sheding a tear right now tho.
and realising I posted that wihout sending my condolences, which I do now...
My condolences (f)

Just to tidy things up - it now becomes clear that the aunt died last week and jennaj was only told on Monday. The funeral being on Wednesday now makes more sense.
:P
