Hi,
I can see your SHrep comments. You got to a profile and click on it. Or, looking at your own, click on SHrep on the left hand menu. <<<<<<<
Then all you do is click on the tabs to read either the Site, Meet or Vouch comments. You have Site and Vouch comments.
The reason it is so 'complex' is to give a variety of people an opportunity to gain SHrep. So for example, I have people who I interact with purely on the site in PM and I could write something in their site SHrep along the lines of "always seems chatty and polite when I speak to her via private message" but if I'm 'friends' with the person then I can go slightly further and Vouch that they are who they say they are. The Meet SHrep takes that up a level - not something I am using, but people can choose to.
It just takes some playing with is all!

Basically it's 3 things in a package :
- Vouch Rep, for people on your Friends list who are Shrep enabled
- Site Rep, for those you've exchanged sufficient SH private messages with (also Shrep enabled)
- Meet Rep, for those Shrep enabled people that you've used the system to set up a meet with
As for your opening Shrep screen, this is basically on how you want to set it up for you in respect of comment privacy.

Had a look. Shrep is far too in depth and complicated....hence the length of the thread. Too complicated that lots of people cant be bothered with it. I've had a friends that have vouched for me and they dont know where it is and dont understand it. Dont want to mention other sites by name but they are so so simple to use. Sorry to sound negative.

As I replied earlier, if someone has enabled SHrep then you can click on it on their profile.
If you want to check your own it's on the left hand side of the screen in the menu titled My Account.

They have to have chosen to enable SHrep. They do that in their SHrep settings over there <<<<< Without that, you can't do anything - this stops people leaving unknown/untoward feedback completely unexpectedly.
Then if you're Friends with them, and you both have SHrep enabled, you can Vouch for each other. If you have exchanged messages with them, and you both have SHrep enabled, you can leave them a Site Rep. If you set up a Meet through the Meet Rep system then you can leave a Meet Rep - or you could just put that in your Vouch.

I am very reluctant to meet people on here now due to so many timewasters, guys pretending to be couples, pic collectors etc...I always wanted a verification system on here, so you can instantly see who are the genuine ones. On another sites, I wont meet anyone who hasnt got proper verifications.

The problem is anyone can go on cam,it doesnt mean they actuallly meet,i assume verification systems are popular because they are a chance to identify people who swing from what a friend calls the "ego cammers"
Yay !! Ego cammers !! I`ve no doubt that we could have been accused of "ego camming" ... no problem to us ...we are fussy and we turn down far more than we accept .... I`m tempted to put "ego cammers" in our signature

And i cannot believe anyone uses it to decide a meet,its still about individuals making up their own minds about others.
I dont use them to decide a meet, but it does influence who I think will actually turn up when arranged.

No it doesn`t !!! It just proves that you make mistakes when trying to make your own decisions !!
...which is why I meet poeple with verifications so I DONT make mistakes....or make less mistakes. Thats my point.

I like random and anonymous meets too. Do you not think that on a lot of occasions, if both parties are verified by what ever means, there seams to be less email tennis due to both knowing that they are genuine and they are likely to actually meet?

I'm with flower. Well not with him so to speak but I agree... verification doesn't sit well with me. I don't need to know what other people think of someone. It's like movies... I don't listen to the critics, I like to make my own mind up whether I like a film or not rather than take someone else's word for it.
I've never been time wasted so far.

This is true... I do my verifying in a different way but I don't remember the last time I met someone from the forums. :lol: I spent a lot of time going to munches and socials and I think you get a feel for people once you've met them socially. It doesn't work for everyone, if you're looking for -meets then I dare say some sort of verification system will work for you to ensure you have a better chance of not having your time wasted. I just do what works for me. :mrgreen:

I would love to do random meets, just go through the ads, pics someone I fancy, send them a message and if they are interested, then go for it. However, confidence, guts and the time to actually go out and be naughty stops me doing it, :sad:
As for SHRep, I did not want this, I was very outspoken about not wanting any kind of verification and said this in many threads on here. However, when admin explained what they were setting up with this, I did feel that it gave people the option to use it not, and that they way it was being set up, should not impact on those who arranged meets other ways (ie via socials, or by getting to them other ways). I have not arranged any meets via SHRep (in fact, not arranged any meets full stop) and I did say that I would not use it, but again, I am starting to come round a little as I know I will have the option of putting on my profile or not. Its not that I am ashamed or worried about others knowing Ive had a meet, I am just aware than some people really do respect their privacy and I also respect their privacy.
My opinion is that SHRep does have its use, and people will choose to use it (or not) in ways which meets their own needs. Personally, we are using it as a bit of fun between people who we know very well, either in person, or through chatting non-stop on here, and are not taking it too seriously.
Would it stop me meeting someone who had no Reps? Of course not, I would be no more or no less inclined to meet someone just because it says something on their SHRep, and would still leave it to gut feeling about the person.
However, if I could do the random meets, then ..........
