What is happening to all the men who try to attract women, dont they know how to dress.
We went out Saturday to a Swinger social, have never been to one before and was very surprised to see how the men dress to try and attract women.
90% of the men had jeans on which didnt fit, unsaven and worst of all wearing trainers.
Several men looked as if the had not washed their hair, obviouslt we had one drink and left.
Before anyone says anything, congratulations to the ladies, they all made an effort to dress,
Come on guys smarten up
Have fun

It is the ultra-casual look! Made famous by footballers and any other men who know that they have just enough money to pull no matter how they turn up.
Others try but forget they have no money.
As for how I turn up....
you never came to manchester then or you would have seen my suit biggrin mind you jacket and tie did not last long as it was so hot rotflmao
No matter how hard I try, I simply cant do smart, only marginally less scruffy.
I don't like men in suits, I always wonder if they're going to try to sell me insurance.

I tend to find it is the men before socials and munches who hog the shower and shower gel, and have to be forced out, so us women can have a shower!!
and I have photos biggrin
It is a shame that you didn't enjoy yourselves on Saturday night. Im sure if you had relaxed and realised that maybe people were wanting to be comfortable, though i know some are in suits. and given time that you would of ended up having a great time.
I must admit the ladies at socials do tend to look stunning and I think everyone appreciates it, though there must be a certain amount of dressing because the other ladies are biggrin
Socials and munches have something for everyones taste. Hey if your going to chat to people with an idea of meeting for a 'little something extra' in the future you coiuld always say that! dress to impress type of thing?
Nice to see you posting in forum ashby wave
Now me I 'really' cant do smart maybe in another lifetime neutral
I think that alot of men look scruffy when they go out. I don't think men should wear trainers to go to the pub ever!.
The first thing I notice on a man is the shoes, it's no good having a £500 suit and scruffy shoes.
When I go out I normally wear trousers(well pressed), a shirt(well ironed), and shoes(well polished).
Maybe i'm just old fashioned.
Although I LOVE  a suit and shirt and tie, I still think it's the personality that counts - I'd rather be talking to a casually dressed friendly guy than a smartly dressed unapproachable one.
But I agree it does look strange to see a very elegantly dressed lady with a scruffy fella - you don't often see it the other way round.
I have to be honest I am of these guys that does spend a lot of time getting ready to go out.
I just feel so uncomfortable if I am not washed, shaved and nicely dressed. And if you are not comfortable then is shows.
I'd love to know which social this was...... lol
I don't think I have ever been at... certainly a munch to say the least... but definatly socials where people haven't put the effort in to look smart......
Mind you if it was in a pub maybe they were trying to blend with the normal clientel.....

sean xxxxxxxxxx
still love to know which scruff part of the country this was....
Just a thought as we have attended socials and Munches where the guys have made an effort.. Including myself lol.
What were you wearing out of interest?? biggrin

A man's dress choice should be free, provided it is not offensive - but not washing and shaving is unacceptable.
Plim biggrin
As it was a social and most likely in a public place, maybe they dressed casually/comfortably? Trainers does not mean scruffy. Nor do jeans.
I'd try to look beyond the clothes - after all, they don't stay on when you fuck, do they?
They may not stay on when you get down to it no but it gives a fair indication of what type of a person they are if unkempt scruffy and even at worst dirty though surely..
Making an effort is easy.. not saying anyone has to go over the top but surely making a bit of an effort is good?

Maybe they made an effort to be casual? Maybe they're growing a beard? How does the couple know the singles didn't wash?
What is wrong with trainers?
I loathe going to a club where a guy isn't allowed in because he is wearing trainers. I get the impression that it's usually the venues that have 'lower standards' that make this rule to appear like their place is 'classy', 'upmarket'.
A guy can still look smart in a nice pair of trainers, perhaps those with little style don't realise this?
Yes, trainers can look scruffy, but so too can a shabby suit and buckled unpolished shoes etc etc.
There is a difference between the type of clothing that you wear and how you present yourself in the clothing.
I'd personally prefer to see someone comfortably making a bit of an effort, even though I don't when I try and squeeze myself into ridiculous heels!!!
lol

Think I'm with you on this one FB!
Bit harsh to think that a lot of people who went to the social in question will read this in the forum and see themselves described in such a way.
One of the things I most love about this place and the events that I have been to organised by its members is the diversity of people I have met... all ages, races, sizes etc etc. And that diversity extends to their dress sense. How nice to be on a night out where everyone feels free to be themselves rather than a night out 'on the town' so to speak, where so many guys and gals seem to dress in an identikit fashion and look almost interchangeable!!
My humble opinion of course!! wink

Absolutely. How embarrassing if you were one of those single men.
I doubt anyone will be embarrassed... If they were happy to go as they did its their choice. No one says they 'have' to dress in anything different.. or even wash. All thats being said as far as I see is they were slightly dissapointed and left! Their choice too eh.. Some may be happy with the way they looked.. they were not.. simple really!
No harm done.. no offence caused just a fair comment made I think..

I don't wear trainers to a social but do wear them when footy training.....
trainers.............does what it says on the tin.. cool
I feel far more comfortable when dressed in a pair of jeans and a nice pair of trainers and a casual shirt..
Doesnt reflect on my personality in any way shape or form..
I do on occasion wear my suit but only with a casual shirt(never a tie) to a munch but it makes me feel too formal dunno
It depends on the person sometimes though confused
Some men put a suit on and just look wrong :eeek:
Some men can slip their nice arse into a well fitting pair of jeans sillyhwoar:
So its about the person and their over all appearance and attitude in my eyes biggrin

dek just looks wrong in a suit but put him in dark jeans and a t shirt and :phwoar: i think with some men as well they are not built to wear a suit (if that makes sence) specially the very skinny ones imo to fill a suit and look good in them the man needs quite broad shoulders dunno
