Can't claim I'm a fashion icon but I'd make a real effort with the old shower gel and shaver and would wear what they call smart casual I guess.I'd prefer not to be 'booted and suited' and like others to be informal in dress and manner too as it's surely all about feeling relaxed and at ease eh?
I attended a social for the first time recently and thought how wonderful everyone looked..........
I myself dressed how I felt comfortable........in a skirt, red top, fishnets and high heels and Mr M dressed in jeans and casual top. I dress for myself. As does Mr M..........................
If other people like it then thats a bonus but if they dont, well then thats their choice. But a little narrow minded to compartmenalise people just by a quick glance........n'est pas?
In these modern times, where the bath infront of an open fire on the 2nd sunday of the month, are long past.......a quick burst under a power shower with some luminous coloured shower gel is quick easy and, in some homes, (  )alot of fun...........mind the soap............
I dont think there is any excuse for not being clean and sparkling.........the only place that should remain dirty is THE MIND
There is a time and a place for men to wear suits etc when going out, and that is to the theatre or a dinner dance type thing....not when going out on the lash or to a swinging social/munch.
Whenever i see someone dressed in a suit round the town my first thought is "poncy tosser" as it reminds me of all the knobs who used to frequent the Mall in stockton in the early 90's thinking they're something special, drinking their baby bottles of moet.
I always wear jeans and a shirt, not your tesco's own brand though, they have to be designer ones as the cut and material used are so much better and i can confidently say i never look scruffy when i'm out.
