To take everybody,s mind off leaving i thought i,d lighten things a bit. coming home in the car the other day they asked people to ring in etc, to say what song they would get married to, well we,re already married and we got married on a cricket pitch and our best man was from trinidad !!!! so while we were going to be outside we set up a P.A system outside and played real carribean calypso music. A good time was had by all, so the question is what was your music if you,re married or if you,re not what would you have, you can say why if you want !! lol   if you,ve never any intention of getting married you can still join in for fun
for me it would be Rock your socks by Tenacious D no im only joking. It would have to me Turn Out The Light by Joan Armatrading listen to the words and it makes you feel warm inside.
Ive been married once
so as a tribute how about
The bitch is back by Elton John
rolleyes
Definately not "Perfect Day" (Various artists).
Hope Mrs RSAB2 doesn't read this............ :uhoh:
The death march?
or their coming to take me away ha ha
lol   There,s some good ones so far !!! friends of ours wanted the theme from robin hood prince of theives ( Everything i do i do for you ) but the vicar had,nt a clue and played the old one ... Robin hood riding through the glenn !!! can you imagine the faces of everyone  the bride started crying
My ex actually chose Suspicious Mind by Elvis
prophetic as things turnrd out
how about Bittersweet Symphony by the of sums it up
( oh and Mcguiness mine took me for 500K mate and I have not recovered)
lol That Robin Hood wedding sounds priceless Ann!
A VERY soppy choice for a wedding song but "I don't know much" by Linda Rondstadt and Aaron Neville would be the one for me and my betrothed - if anybody here would like to marry me that is. !

tainted love by soft cell...seems to be in keeping with the way the thread is going right now
A friend of mine wanted to walk down the aisle with the music from the award ceremony at the end of Star Wars (the original first one). His wife wouldn't allow it though! smile Though they did go with another piece of John Williams music.
Er - no Iain, this threads NOT going that way with me,I'm still soppy. :inlove:
"Save the best till last" Vanessa I have that as well?
So thats "I don't know much","Save the best till last" and "I want to break free"then redface
Having been to very few weddings and have not really thought about the music for my own....... or much else.... we can't even decide which country it will be in or which language let alone what music to play, it won't be for a good few years yet anyways.
I'd quite like darkness, "I believe in a thing called love", by the time I make it down the asile they may have crashed out of music and we could hire them for a nominal fee..... rolleyes
Although I think with have a few thoughts quite different to mine.
No laughing in Heaven - Gillan
But I'm marginally twisted when it comes to music...

Oh christ that is a bloody classic - that has really made my day. Not even bothered about the coffee coming out of my nose.
I used to organise weddings and was always amazed at the songs folk chose - obviously folk didn't really listen to the words. My best moment ever was in a hotel with music playing in the bar as the wedding guests were arriving - Just as the bride and groom arrived The Beautiful South burst into Don't Marry Her Fuck Me!
lol      - that'll have coffee coming out of everybodys nose Celticq - another classic!

Vix & I recently attended a friend's wedding where the groom had written all of the music used in the ceremony and recorded it to CD. The beginning came off like clockwork, but the person manning the CD player chose the wrong track for the closing song...and ended up playing his cover version of "She's Not There" by The Zombies!! lol
~Reese! surprised

What's worse (as Vix just reminded me) was that the song was originally written by a mate of his, who was at the wedding as well (no one mentioned a word...until later)!
Hiyas,
When I first got married there was just the registry office music playing in the back ground. xx
When it can to my second marriage Andrew Lloyd Webber was playing in the back ground and when I walked down the aile we had playing Jenifer Rush's Power of Love. xx
It was a very emmotional song but it meant alot at the time. xx
But............................. alas this marriage didn't survive either. xx lol xx

We signed the register to the ultimate love song and I bet not one of you has heard it... Jackie Wilson - Because of You...
